Here's a couple of pics of the my new course, West Lothian.

16th fairway, long par 4 through up the gulley

2nd hole looking over 16th to the Hope Monument. This is shot looking back down the fairway towards the tee.

Only use i've had out of my new membership so far is a morning skiing down the 3rd!

Whilst on the subject of snow, perhaps someone in the Scottish contingent can confirm or disabuse for me...

Am I imagining it, or am I correct in recalling that at Grantown on Spey GC, there is (or was) a sign saying that in winter, skiers have precedence... ?

Just seems a bit apposite at the moment

As a former member of GoS for 5 years or so I honestly can't recall seeing a sign saying that. They do put fences round some of the greens to stop sledgers runnning over the greens though the sledgers/skiers are free to sledge/ski everywhere else on the course (14th mainly).

Birdieman - thanks, I'll take your word for it. But I'm damn sure I saw one somewhere. (GoS just seemed to stick in my mind)

Does that mean there wont be any fresh salmon on the 15th.... they'll all be frozen fish this year
