Yesterdays game gave me the first indication that I should get some winter shoes, due to some soft spike slippage on the tee.
Are rubber uppers and metal spikes still available or am i showing my age here?
Otherwise, what do you consider to be a good winter shoe?
Thanks in advance.

The standard Adidas spikes have always served me well during the winter. They seem a bit harder than other soft spikes, and seem to bite a bit more, when conditions are muddy/icy.

Ha ha ha I remember those type of shoe. Can't remember the manufacturer but they were almost pure rubber upper, hard sole with spikes. Feet would sweat like a fat lass on a space hopper, and even if it was a dry day it would appear you'd been wading through the sea.... Ah happy memories!

Edit- was it Barrats the maker of these style icons?
