I finished top of the league I was in for our Winter League. Best 4 cards counted and I came away with 83 points.

Handicap has been cut of the 2 months from 27 to 22. I'm well please with that since my target for the year is 20 so I'm 5/7 of the way there and it's only just April. I'm just hoping I can keep it going!

Didn't win today but played fairly steady making a few mistakes that cost - like dumping my ball into the water twice.

I enjoyed myself more towards then end but was nervous as hell for the first 3 or 4 holes - and when you are playing only 9 that's not the best.

Just hoping I can learn to control the nerves better in future! Any tips welcome on this :-)

Our winter team league finals are next weekend. My team is currently last :(

Best 7 stableford points are counted from however many of your team can play on finals day (Max 12)

Those points are then added to the total accumulated from the rest of the years matchplay. Currenly need a few hundred to move up a place and over 800 to win :D

Cheers guys.

Homer - right on the money there too. I've already decided that there isn't really a way you can prepare to play under pressure. You've got to get yourself onto the course in competitions and compete, push yourself into those uncomfortable situations until they start to feel less uncomfortable.

The guys I played around with today were very welcoming and friendly given I was quite a few years younger! :)

To be honest immediately after the round I was disappointed but now I'm starting to enjoy the fact that I actually got there at all and managed to get around today with a reasonable score. And I'm starting to wonder what it'll be like next time! Damn this game for being so addictive!! :D

Well done and as Homer says there is no substitute for experience just get used to being in a winning position. :D ;)
