Hey guys

Just wondering does anyone here change golf balls for the winter season? Personally I go for a longer golf ball to compensate for the lack of distance in the cold weather.

I'll probably change to NXT Tour or similar. Mainly because the top-end balls I normally use spin too much on softer greens and rip back of the short stuff. Also the greens will be slow so a softer ball is going to take some whacking to get to the hole. I know some guys that use Topflites and still stop them on a sixpence in winter.

Yes i'll probably change to some z-urs' i've got in the garage. I wont use these in the summer so see no reason not to use them in the winter when I wont mind losing them under all the leaves. IMO these are only worth using in the winter so it saves my expensive balls for losing in the summer

Why change? If you're used to what a ball does in the proper golfing season it makes no sense to chance to something different during the winter, otherwise it'll take you a while to get used to your 'new balls' next spring....

I'll hit whatever's in my bag, mainly B330's or ProV1's. I can adjust my game to suit conditions with regard to hard or soft greens.

I don't swap. I do however swap drivers.
As I don't use really soft spin balls, it seems illogical.

I change to something like an AD333 or NXT to get a little bit more distance. To be fair the greens are so wet in the winter even Pinnacles etc get stop so I don't feel I'm losing any control with wedges etc. The firmer ball also helps on the slower greens when putting too

im staying with my e6+ but if i start thinning the ball might have to change to something softer so the vibrations dont give me the yips for 3 weeks!

Baffled :D

Z-URS aint cheap unless you got some kind of amazing discount and they are as good as Z-Stars (i'd still play em if they still made em) so how come you dont use them in summer and dont mind loosing them? WHat do you play in the summer?

I play Z-stars in the summer and will prob change to 333's in winter (not zzz like I said in another post :D )

Only reason I change is because i normally loose more balls in winter and at £12 a dozen its no big loss. Don't normally need alot of stop anyway with the greens being softer.
