I know people who've got them on the 11th. There you don't even know that you have done it till you get to the green.Fair enough - but there's 2 holes at my club - a mid iron and a wedge that I will give myself loads of chances at every year.
Obviously it still might never happen, but I don't worry about it. Was very close last month where it had a great look and must have been 2 inches from the hole at one point and was like a 1 foot putt.
If I had the option of getting a hole in 1 every couple of years or getting down to a below average handicap at some point I'd much prefer to be a lower handicap.
I have to say, having played for almost 50 years (I hate to say that, am I really that old?), I would love to get a hole in one but I wouldn't swap it for a win. I'm greedy, I want both.
