How the frak can you play against someone shrieking and grunting their head off the way Sharapova did today.

Can you imagine doing that on the golf course when you unload a drive?

I agree very offputting.
I thought Laura did well,however its the same old story,champions are players that can just raise there game at the right time.

There was a guy like this up the range I used to use before I moved house. He always seem to be there when I was and it was so off-putting... and then , just to make it worse, after every shot, he would say something like "That was a sh*t shot, sh*t shot, eff, jeff etc". Used to wind me up something chronic!

Laura played well, but she has got to improve her speed around the court considerably if she is going to get any where near the worlds top 20. Put the ball behind her and she has no chance. She hits a lot of attempted winners at full stretch because she knows she can't get back to cover the court.

I did some coaching with a top British player once, and his speed from hitting the ball to getting back in position for the next shot was amazing. Did think it was a bit harsh when he said I turned like a juggernaut. Good job I am sticking to golf now.

Agreed. They should play five sets AGAINST the guys. Like to see fat Serena against Djokovic!

I cannot watch womens tennis if the shrieking is happening, its a disgrace and needs to be clamped down on hard by the governing bodies. I generally dont watch tennis but when I do I want to enjoy it, not have to turn off the sound.

Nothing wrong with a little odd grunt here or there if you put all the effort into it, but on every tennis shot? Even the little ones?

Yes, you did. Another improvement would be swapping shirts at the end like footballers do. No bras, of course, but Serena and Venus would be exempt from such a rule.
