Anyone used these yet...
I play most of my winter golf with DX2's and Srixon AD333...
I Put stupid spin on the srixons with anything from a 7 iron to a wedge. The Wilson's not so much but I love their feel..
I prefer a softer ball around and on the greens..

Most of my good summer rounds and even my best rounds of 72,and 73 have came with ProV 1's. But I have to be honest and say I don't buy them New. I can't justify the price. I usually buy second hand Pro V's... The Pro V's are very good from short range in but their a bit inconsistent for me sometimes spinning so much that I think I've got a good shot only for it to back up off the green.. My swing isn't sound enough to be aggressive enough to throw balls past flags and have them back up as sometimes I may not get the spin I think I will...


Goals this year for me are to miss my targets pin high instead of short. But I don't want a ball either that runs like Linford Christie when it hits the green.

I find them more like an ad333 or nxt off the tee am so if your a fader/drawer you should see less movement than say a prov1, but super soft for chipping at putting.

I love em and always buy when I see them on a deal, down to my last six boxes so will keep my eyes pealed for any on clearance.

I've been playing the DX3 Soft for a few years now, absolutely love it as a ball. Good distance of the driver and soft to feel on irons and putting. I haven't played the newly branded spin or urethane, not sure which is the same or different to the previous version.

Recently I've also been playing the Taylormade Project (a) which I think is a little better than the Wilson for distance with driver or irons, but just as soft for chipping and putting, get great check chipping into greens. This one competes hard with the Callaway Chromesoft.

Essentially, I'll play whichever of these three show up in the best deals, but have played the Wilsons for the longest and most often given its price is usually the best of the three most of the time.

The Urethane DX3 is likely to be a nice ball, similar in concept to the AD333 Tour and Project (a).

I used to use the DX3 Soft like others who have replied here but switched to FG Tour when they were £15 a dozen for blemished. The FG Tour is more responsive around the greens and although I don't have the game to get the most out of it it does reward my good strikes. I've got about 10 dozen in the house so enough to see me though till the end of May Biggest issue with them is they discolour quite quickly to a sort of off white during play.

Chrome Soft would also be well worth a look. With the previous model coming in at about £40 for two dozen. A good premium ball and not nearly as clicky as older Callaway balls.

I get backspin Harpo.
But it all depends on contact.
Today I hit a 6 iron into a green from 150 mtrs off the tee and we witnessed it back up about 6ft. And that was with a srixon ad333.
I know you'll see balls come down hop, jump forward and stop. But mine come down , hop jump a bit and then back up.
I take sizable divots but this time of year it's hard for me to go down through the ball over the soft ground. In truth it's the time of year I struggle with most. For a fader of the ball it's hard to swing shallow.

Callaway did a great ball around the first pro v but I haven't found anything like it since. Usually I get back spin but I have suffered with poor shaping etc... The callaway was stable and back spun.

Same with me. I might be looking for the unobtainable though. One that's soft and putts well. One that doesn't exasperate my shape off the tee and one that stops on the greens.

After my disappointment with the Vice Pro Plus balls, I snaffled a 3 pack of these from the pro shop last night to give them a try...... and absolutely love them, as good as the DX3 Soft that I used to play, if not better. They fly a country mile off the driver, and my irons also seemed to gain a fair bit of distance too. Not noticing too much on the spin front chipping into greens, but that could largely be down to my wedges needing a refinish, or me just being crap at chipping . To be honest, I haven't seen much spin on any ball of late, whether it be ProV or ZStar or RXS. Our greens are firm and quick and I'm struggling to get anything to hold. They did need a little extra nudge when putting as they are soft on the face, but not as much as the Vice did. I think I'm going to load up with these for the rest of the season.
