I picked up some of the FG Tour X balls, as I wanted to test a "premium" ball at a more affordable price. These balls definitely do fit into that category. Out o the box they feel lovely and soft, which inspires confidence when you get a short chip to make. From full wedge shots to full 5 irons, they do stop on the greens quickly thanks to their "Traction Control" technology. Off the driver, they feel good, and produce a great, straight ball flight. The balls can be picked up for good money off the internet with a bit of searching, and are well worth a purchase for those wanting a fantastic ball at a more affordable price.

If you are new to the game, and have a high handicap, then I would probably stick to the Donnay/Dunlops. You're going to lose some, and it is easier to take if you lose "50p per ball" balls than "£2 per ball" balls. There is a definite difference though. On the cleanly struck shots, the balls react a lot more positively, and can give you a lot more feedback. In my opinion, as your handicap lowers, the cost of ball you use should increase as you learn to control the ball more

Never come across these before and the price of premium balls is usually what puts me off.
I had a ball fitting while back and having used the ball they said I should for a few weeks wasn't really happy with the short game feel. So reverted back to Srixon Z-Stars.

But having seen your review and having found somewhere that's doing them for £24.99 for a doezn, and seeing what the manufacturer spiel says, I am going to take the plunge and get some for the weekend.

Will let ya know what I think, but cheers for the heads up.

No problems! I hope you find them as good as I have!!
