Has anyone tried these? They are allegedly long ff the tee, and nice and soft around the greens with plenty of spin. Like I say though, this is 'allegedly'. Just wondered if anyone had tried them before I buy some to test. At £17 a dozen they are only half the price of the usual ProV's

I used the old model and can't rate them highly enough.
They are hardly a long ball i.m.o. but overall they play nice enough. Just remember to do lots of putting with them to get the feel.....they are quite "unusual".
I found they did spin more noticeably than other mid-range distance balls, and are the best of the bunch compared to many a cheap ball. Just my opinion though.
I agree and find them way too soft especially around the green. I tried one of the new TM Penta balls yesterday and was decidedly unmoved. I didn't think it was anything special and in my opinion performed no different to the TP red
I use the tx4 and find it the best ball I have used. Last week I won a doz of the DX3 soft and found them very good as well, good off the tee and very good around the green, you will get some good spin and stopping with it.
I've been trying to figure out what the 'best' ball is for a while and my conclusion is that what is the 'best' ball is very much down to an individual.
I've tried Callaway HX and HX-Tour and I think both of these are like hitting a stone - same for the Warbird ball. The Big Bertha is a better feel but creates too much spin for me.
I quite like the NXT-Tour but they are pretty expensive now. The DX2 is not a bad compromise on price, distance and spin - but that's just me.
I think you'd be best answering this question by getting a dozen (or maybe even 3) and trying them out on a round. Then you'll know if they suit you and your game.
I tried the wilson dx2 and dx3 alongside other balls and although they were nice around the greens, i couldn't drive as well as with other balls with them and putting was without feel. Like putting a feather!
Settled on either Nike One Platinum (got around 8 left) or Taylor Made Burner TP.
