Will Rory repeat?

I will stick my neck out here and say that Ropry Mcilroy wont win another major for a good few years if any at all.

I think his problem imho is that he is enjoying the celebrity lifestyle a little too much and possibly had his head turned.

He should be the one that all the guys are trying to catch tiger esque however i fear that he may have lost that chance.

McIlroy can definitely and will win at least another major, will it be the US Open? I can't see any reason why not the guy has all the talent in the world and has proven he can use it at any time

I'm with you joma, he seems to be enjoying himself too much (as if that's a bad thing!). His back 9 at Augusta was instructive - arseing around with Sergio because he knew he couldn't win. I don't much like Tiger but you would never, ever, EVER see him clowning around on Sunday in a Major, even if he was 7 shots out of it.

Think he might need a kick up the backside sometime soon, or it could be a while before he wins another. In terms of talent, though, he should be up there challenging every time.

Sounds like his manager needs to have a word with him before he turns into DC mark II.

Interesting point about having his head turned and one I agree with. I wonder if he has really applied himself to the practise required at his level this season and results and performances have suffered as a result. I'm sure if he was with Chubby Chandler still he would have been towing a tighter line

I don't think he will win the US this year I'm with the other posts who think he is getting a bit used to the celeb lifestyle and not applying himself enough to his work.

Utter rubbish.

Pretty certain he's not missed a cut this year, has hardly been out of the top 10,lost in a play off and has a win to his name, the kids season has barely started yet his performances and results have suffered? Rubbish post.

So he was top 10 at Augusta? Good performance in a major wasn't it? Same old from you - muppet

You do take facts so well Homer, name calling eh?Remind me how old you are again?:smirk:

As soon as he missed the cut he tweeted that he was off to Milan with a picture of the tickets. He's a brilliant golfer he's just totally loved up.

And his last few Majors read T3,T3,T15,1st,T25,T64,T40.......Not a bad run if you are judging him on solely Majors.

Once the season gets going and he misses a few cuts and has lowly finishes then you can say he is suffering.

Doesn't take long for the Westwood bashing to start - so time for a bit of a rant. Next we will have the word "choker" used in the same sentence as an apology for analysis rather than recognise that the guy is a poor putter by tour standards across all rounds so it isn't reasonable to expect him to be better in the last 9 holes on a Sunday in a major but in the event that he does put even average since his ball striking is light years better than anyone elses he will win by a street. Westwood is a legend, always has been (even during the lean years) always will be.
