Why do you think the top players feel the need to change their swing?
I don't understand why they do it, especially somebody like Harrington who has won 3 majors using that swing.

Fair enough if you have an ingury like Tiger had you may be forced into it to protect the body from further damage, but after beating the best in the world in major tournaments what drives them to make changes?

Some might say they want more titles, OK but why change something that has given you a win? Is it because they felt they have a failing? If that is the case it must be such a small failing otherwise you wouldn't be winning major titles? So why risk loosing the level they have worked for so long to get to?

Any ideas?

Anxiety? they spend so much time looking over their shoulders at the upcoming guys; longer hitters, straighter hitters (usually not the same person).

Their game was tailored to courses as they were and now they favour a different type of player?

I'd say it's the same reaction and re-reaction for them as it is for us hackers,i.e. a swing thought and/or feeling only works for a while and then starts to waver, get out of line or becomes exagerated so you have to find a new way.

Obviously it's on a different level but they are still human.
