Out of the current crop of pros whose Driving ability, iron play, short game and scrambling skills would you have.

To start off if I had the choice I would have vijays driving, Sergio's iron play (minus the re-gripping habbit!) and tigers short game and scrambling ability.

There is no real point behind this, its just meant as a bit of fun. :D

You didn't want My short game yesterday, Andy. Nearly had a clubhouse window to pay for!

I would like Olazabal's shortgame, please. My own pro reckons it's technically the best there is. Now if only he could hit a fairway!

Sergio for ball striking and iron play

Tigers short game

Darren Clark for driving

Seve for charisma

(I would also be more than happy with a swing like J_F!)

Driving - davis love III or Tiger (Davis plays 70-75% driver and is rumoured to be bigger than tiger but chooses accuracy)
Woods - er.. Tiger Woods
Long irons - Sergio, he simply bulldozes them down the fairways
short game - a healthy mix between tiger, clarky and seve.
Putting would have to be clarky, hes not the best but seems to be able to pull his best out when it matters.. ryder cups and his recent win are good examples.
Otherwise Ill have to stick with mine for now, its doing ok but needs a little work all round to tighten up.

Anyone want my game. Free of charge inc P&P (one not very careful owner!!!)

I'd like the driving of Westwood (or Montgomery in his pomp where is rarely missed a fairway).

The iron play of Langer (laser guided)

The short game of Mickleson

The putting of Woods

The visualisation and fearlessness of Seve

The focus of Faldo

Excluding Tiger from my composite golfer-
i would take the short game of John Daly (circa 1995 Open win)
The putting of Goosen(circa US Open victories)
Bunker play of Els or Player.
Fortitude of Langer.
The Driving of Couples.
Iron play of Ollie.
All married together in Hogans Swing and dressed by Ian Poulter--Well the best golfer could wear whatever he likes and would not look like a prat. :D

My top 10.

1. Sergio's Driving
2. David Duval of 1999's ball striking
3. David Duval for pitching and distance control
4. Tiger for scrambling
5. Tiger for putting
6. Faldo's 1989-1995s ability to make the competition shite themselves when I get on the leaderboard
7. Tigers wind play
8. Tiger and Jacks ability to hole it when it just has to go in or bust
9. Tom Watson's ability to close out Major Championships
10. Ballesteros' imagination (which I have), and the ability to pull it off (which sadly I do not).

driver by Monty, VJ and Westwood blended by Hogan
irons by Ollie,
wedges by Michelson
putting by Woods
a dollop of Jack, Arnie and Tom for being able to be ruthless when it counts while remaining human
a dash of Player and Faldo for grit and determination
a soupcon of Seve, Trevino and Jiminez for passion and style
a splash of Kim for fearlessness (or not knowing or caring when it's not on)

Assuming all players are at their peak:

Driving - Couples / Norman
Long Irons - Faldo / Olazabal
Short irons - Woosnam / Duval
Chipping - Olazabal / Langer
Bunkers - Player / Langer
Putting - Toms / Faxon
Mentality - Faldo
Excitement - Seve
Whole package - Woods

Davis Love III (the worst name ever but his driving is pure quality)
Sergios woods and long Irons.
Michelsons Wedges.
Woods' putting
Faldo's head for keeping in control
Poulters style (obviously except to odd eyeburning outfit he seems to pull out of the closet)

Worst golfer would be - My driving, Michelsons putting (or westwoods), Sergios mind game.

Putt like Ben Crenshaw - best stroke there is!
Chip like Phil Mickelson
Irons like Johnny Miller mid 1970's
Drive like Fred Funk (ok he's not long but he's always on the fairway!)
Toughness and intimidation factor - Tiger Woods

Good call on Crenshaw - putting action as smooth as silk!

I'd be off scratch with his putting <he says more in hope than anticipation>!

Jimenez; A wine gut, a hopeless pony tail, crocodile skin golf shoes and a fat Cuban cheroot - this man has no shame - refreshing isn't it?

It interests me how many people choose Tigers putting -
especially considering how many times he seems to miss birdie putts in recent majors.

I agree that he makes loads of pars where others may not however - probably more to do with his mentality.

But to me he certainly isn't the best putter there's been.

Interesting that the young crop of UK players don't feature too much in here except Poulters 'style'! Perhaps they have yet to develop these awe inspiring qualities, if ever!?

But allround I like Jimenez whole 'laid back' approach and the apparent 'well I make a nice enough living out of this, lets just enjoy it' attitude. Weather that's just a front and inside he's gets as worked up as anyone else I don't know, but if he does, he don't 'alf hide it well.
