Who uses iron head covers?

Always used iron covers can't afford to pay £500 for a set of irons to have them looking like they are ten years old after first season due to bag clatter. Cool or not leaving mine on

Honestly it's Imurgs fault, I remember the first time we met he had his MP 58s and they looked like brand new, so sexy. If he is cool or not you can decide but shiny MPs are!!!

I have to say that I have always been resistant to the idea of headcovers

However

Tomorrow I will be spending quite a bit of cash on forged clubs.

I will be using them

Not when they are clothed in neoprene. They are then about as cool as an old truss.

People that wear beige trousers.
People that have doilies on their chairs.
People that wear their ties on the outside of their tank tops.
People that tuck their shirts into their underpants.
People that listen to the Archers.
People that keep coins in those little leather purses with a flap.
People that always treat their shoes with three coats of Scotchguard.
People that smoke pipes.
People that have bus passes.
People that drink hot milk before bed.
People that have coach holidays.

Need I go on. They are very very uncool.

I do none of the above not even close, uncool but quiet with non bashed clubs 😝

Agree totally. Just a gimmick to lengthen the round.

Eh?

It takes 3 seconds to take one off and about the same time to put it back on - add up the 40 shots or so taht you play with your irons and - Oooh it uses up about 4 minutes.......That's if you stand still while you're doing it. If you do it on the move it costs no time....

Quite frankly I'd be quite happy to be uncool........

Nowt wrong with a bus/travel pass if you havent got a car.I'm sure THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of public transport users would agree.

Iron covers? Couldnt be bothered,no point anyway dont use nowt less than a 7

I use them on my forged irons. As a result there's not an ounce of bag damage and they look as good as the day they were bought.

If this makes me uncool then so be it but at least my shineys are still shiney and if they ever come to be sold will have a better resale value

I use them, don't give a monkeys what anyone else thinks if they extend the life of my clubs then why not? I do take them off in the shed though, as the moisture stays in them and the club doesnt dry. Can't be having rusty clubs:eek:

The way I look at it is if you use covers and keep your shineys shiney, in 18 months you'll look at your non-shineys and want to have shineys instead so you'll go looking for new shineys when if you kept your shineys shiney you wouldn't need to look for replacement shineys and your shineys will still be shiney long after someone else's non-shineys.

Those people that take out an iron, remove the cover, unzip a pocket in their bag, put the cover in, re-zip it, walk 10 yards to the ball, take a few practice swings, change their mind, go back and do it all again, use one of those little water sprays on the clubface, wipe it down with their towel, clean out the grooves, then go through the un-zipping and replacing are the culprits that give the iron condom brigade a bad name. Well, that and beige trousers.

There's no accounting for idiots Socket....do thses people not have pockets? A neoprene cover doesn't exactly take up much room....either that or stick it on the end of your V-easy....

Jees almost as bad as all trolley users that leave them at the wrong sides of the greens and take forever to get their asses out of the way for the next group coming through. Tarring everyone with the same brush?

Not that easy when your shirt is tucked into your underpants and your little leather purse and pipe are in your pockets.

I had them for 2 sets, titleist and nike. Not got any now but will be buying some this week.

will get some of the neoprene jobbies off ebay for a tenner. I just whip em off, slap on the v easy (its the swiss army knife of golf gear) , hit shot, wipe club, slap back on & jobs a good un :D

not bothered if its cool or not. I dont exactly look cool putting juice in the car before a round wearing IJP tartans, pink ck tshirt & white baselayer mock :) (most probably look at me and think what a bleep)
