looking at getting one of these to complete my set. I currently have a 15deg 3-wood and a 20deg 3-iron Utility, so am looking to bridge this gap with a 18deg 2-iron Baffler.

The old model which I have tried (albeit into a net at AG) was very good, and Direct Golf are currently selling this for £69.

So if you own one, how do you get on with it?

How many clubs will you then have?
Or are you going to drop the 64 Lobby?

Yes Bob, the 64deg will be cast aside. I have been practicing in the garden and have found that the 58deg should be sufficent, I was getting loads of height when opening up the face and placing my weight on my back foot.

This should make it 14 clubs.

IMO you're not in need of an 18, that's only 2 deg less than the 20 so there'd be little difference between them. I'd be looking for 4 or 5 degrees between clubs to keep your yardages covered better.

Bafflers are good, I had a 4r (23 deg) one with a stiff speeder shaft, absolutley effortless to hit it long and high, should've kept it really!

I think that you are right mate, I am being far too impetuous.

Last night I started taking my yardages over our field (5 balls and a SkyCaddie) and have only got down to my 9-iron so far. When I get the yardages for my new MX-700 and my 3-Wood i'll take it from there.

I am seriously looking at a putter too either a Yes Callie at £89 or a Ping Karsten Anser at £59, obviously the money is burning a hole in my pocket!! But I just want to get set up now for the season and not have to worry about clubs again.

Got a Baffler 23 degree and love it.

When it's on it flies and when Im not hitting so well the damage doesn't seem to be that bad.

Use it off the tee and the deck and I really have confidence with it.

My 23 deg TWS Baffler is the mutts whatsits !! Off the tee , or any other lie for that matter. I love the sound it makes, like a 'click' when the sweetspot strikes the ball off the tee. I'm tempted to go for an 18 deg next club, maybe a 5 Wood S9, but it wou;d have to be good to tempt me away from the Baffler.

Oh, the old Cobra utility, such a legend already.

I have an MD and a Callaway, both loved for different reasons. I would have got the Cobra (a while back) but I wanted a lighter swing weight. The latest is actually D2....damn....perfect!!

I only have one question though about these clubs....why do folk want so many???

If a player said "I hit the 18 degree one great (instead of a 5 wood) and I'd like a 23" I could understand.

But adding a 20 to a 23 sounds bonkers to me.....in the hands of a really consistent player, maybe, at a push....but surely it's just cluttering up the wrong end of the bag....for 10 yards difference.....

I've played a lot of golf since putting my 3 wood in the shed and getting a high loft driver. My "theory" was to keep things simple 220 driver, 200 5 wood, 180 hybrid......why would I want to stick a 190 yard club in with that lot? If I want 190 yards, I'll take the 5 wood and go easy......

I may not hit the ball miles, but isn't one utility enough....?.....

Maybe it's just me :D :D

Logical.....I'd say this idea sums up my sentiment..... :)
