Who do you know on here?

Didn’t know anyone before I joined.
I’ve since played with & enjoyed the company of many forummers, on some cracking courses.
Good day out at Porthcawl a few years ago (y)
No one, they are all knobs.

Oh, I did meet Smiffy once! See!
We've never met Scooter but you once offered to let me park in your drive (no that's not a euphemism :ROFLMAO:)
That is going above and beyond forum expectations :)

Didn't know anyone when I first signed in - but have met quite a few since on various meets. First one I went to would be about 11 years ago at Leatherhead with about 8 or 9 others there. Can't remember all of them but I think Lefty and Murph were there. Then not too long after there was the inaugural forum "championship" (or I think it was something like that) at Homer's place where we had a trophy made up. It ran for a year or two I think before it got subsumed into other things. Have met & played with Brian the Hobbit a few times in Spain. Hope to meet a few more of you.

I remember playing with Brian at Woodhall. It almost got to the point where I just gave him any putt as soon as he was on the green, the hole must have looked like a skip to him that day :)

Looking back it’s amazing how many people I’ve played with from on here:

D4S, Rod & Paul at Porthcawl
Hobbit at North Hants
Paul, Richart & Fish, and TwoBlue and Wilson at Swinley
BIM a few times
LP at Camberley
Kraxx & Kamelian a few times(my trolley still has a ball sized dent in it from Camberley)
Radbourne, Pokerjoke & SILH at Farnham
RickG at Tidworth
Midnight 2 rounds at Woburn
Wookie and Crow at Gainsborough
Fenwayrich, Paperboy at Sunningdale
Junior at Hillside & West Hill
Plus Mike, Jez, Elliot and Michael from GM

to name just a few

Just remembered I met up with I think it was Hawkeye in Florida as we both happened to be at the same resort at the same time that had 3 golf courses on it. So had a very enjoyable round with him and then a couple of beers with him and his family afterwards. Very pleasant.

From my limited experience I've found that people in real life are very similar to their personas on the forum. There was one exception where a forum big mouth at the time turned out to very timid and bit of a sad man in M&S clothing from the 1980s in real life. But on the whole people probably give more away about their real life personalities on the forum then they realise.

Joined in 08 whilst living in NZ to keep up date with UK golfing scheme, returned in 13 and have meet many since although still waiting to do a H4H day.
Hosted a few at own club and one even ended up joining, also been hosted away.
Guess would know around 20 -25 but special, mentions to Fish, LQ , Bigfoot, Crow, StuartC and Adasko.
But extra special as it was the best day ever on a golf course at Hillside with Hobbit, Pokerjoke and sadly missed RickG
Hopefully see a few of you at Coventry in August (y)

Best memory was the day before the Ping "Play Your Best" final, in the clubhouse at Gainsborough also 2012, with about 25 Forum members watching The Miracle at Medinah on a big screen, Mike H buying all the drinks, plastered, staggering back to the guest house and somehow making the tee time the following day.

Met a few folk at meets, Old Farts, Siloth, SNew Zealand, Sunningdale and Turnberry. played with the OP at Stoneham, Mariners Soc at Berkshire and a game at New Forest etc etc...

Everyone has been excellent company...... which makes some of the spats on here unfathomable! :-)
