Which set

Either of the bottom 2 would be fine though you need to work out what shafts you need as one is graphite and one is steel.

I like the look of all but the top set. Coupled to the fact that I don't trust that particular website.

I'd say the MDs with the graphite shafts could be the bargain there.

I tried the Prosimmon ones, a friend bought some from that web site, the quality is not to good though.

Another friend had some Wilsons similar to the set in the link they felt good.

Think i had better think this one through before rushing into anything.

Thanks for the advice

I can't understand why anyone would buy any clubs over the internet without hitting them first. Would you do the same with a used car and not take it for a test drive. How can you ever be sure the shaft, loft and lie will be right and if you don't get on with them will you ever recoup any of the outlay. Sorry to be a pooper but I do find the idea a bit daft

Hence the line
"Think i had better think this one through before rushing into anything."

I`ve only been playing the game for just over a year i`m enjoying it and getting better.

So before i invest on some more clubs i thought i`d get some proper advice

Thanks again
:)

it worked for me. Bought them blind and not got a problem. I out score my playing partner who spent a grand on ping gear after testing them etc.

The exception rather than the rule! I will always try first at say AG, even if I then buy over the internet. Why spend hundereds of pounds sight unseen. It beats me.

Depends on how good - or bad - your playing partner is.

I really can't see how somebody starting out in the game, would be seriously handicapped by using any kind of GI club with a regular shaft.
Entry level clubs are designed for entry level players, and as for shaft flex, the clues in the name "regular".
Welcome aboard the forum mate, and for what its worth,if i were you i'd try and get something second hand.Unless your freakishly tall,or have a tour pro swing speed, almost any GI irons will suffice whilst your learning the game.
Most supermarkets have for sale boards, and my local Morrisons always has golf clubs for sale on there's.They will most likely be cheap, and you'll be able to see what your buying, and have a waggle before parting with your hard earned.
All the best.

I bought 2nd hand clubs off here without hitting them, (same ones as in my sig) I cannot fault the, struggled at 1st with the longer irons but am getting there through practice and using them fairly regularly

Unless they are a really cheapo entry level set then anything from the well respected brands will be plenty good enough imho!

I got my clubs after hitting the MP-52s but not being able to find a good deal on any.

I think it you are someone who has never played or is of a beginner standard pretty much any starter clubs will get you down to shooting mid to low 90s eventually.

I have no issues with all these starter sets for under £150 and less. I think they are a great cheap easy way to get people to play golf and that can only be a good thing.

Once you get consistent change to something with a better shaft, head, lie etc for you. IMO a beginner has way more to worry about than those things.
