which range finder?

The Bushnell V3 can be found for €239 or even €229 (GBP 172/165) here in Germany. Even with shipping costs up to € 15 to 20 (GBP 10 to 14), that's still a lot cheaper than the UK prices.

I found it was better and quicker picking up the flag as well as being easier to focus and use

Interesting you say that as that the reason i chose the Nikon over the Bushnell. a number of times my mates v3 picks up the trees behind the green whereas the 7 second scan function on mine means i can check the trees and then the flag to make sure its correct.

I have a golfbuddy platuim IIRC, its a white Golfbuddy one anyway(DOH).

No yearly charges, easy to use and appears to be accurate.

brilliant, changed my iron shots to the green game, now I don't normally get those silly shots that flay 10 yards short or long of the green, as I guessed the yardage wrong.

In 7 seconds I have picked up the flag , it's buzzed and on the way back into my bag :D

But a guy I play with regulary is the same as you - can't use the Bushnell but uses the Nikon very well

The yardage given is always the same

Interested to hear what you think of it!

As the course was closed I went to the driving range today and took it with me, it was a bit shaky when I held it, but that was probably just me, it did seem to pick up the target ok though, whether the measurements were correct though I don't know. It will be a better test when I can take it out on the course.

Nikon Coolshot 20 £136 Amazon
Bushell V3 £199 American Golf

Is the V3 worth the extra ?

Where are you seeing the Bushnbell Tour V3 for £199 on AG? its £249.99

I was torn between the 2 and have just ordered the Nikon. On paper everything is better about it. It will be here tomorrow so I will report back how I get on with it when I play in the morning.

Asked them to price match Golf Depot Chester who have the V3 priced at £199 (in store) they have agreed,
They are selling 2nd hand on Ebay for anything between £180 -£200 plus postage

I have the Nikon Coolshot and its a pretty decent bit of kit. Also have a useful Bushnell watch which is ideal for bounce games, quick glance gives me a ball park figure.

Another vote for nikon. Have a coolshot and have tried the v2, v3 and z6. They all do exactly the same thing....the jolt thing is just a gimmicky USP and adds nothing to the functionality. The nikon is equally easy to use, built by arguably a more reputable brand and is cheaper, waterproof and higher magnification than the v2 and v3. Absolute no brainer.

My Nikon turned up yesterday. Took it up the range as it was too wet too play. Seems great! It's small and light and I found it very easy to pick out flags and targets. I honestly don't know what the extra £100 for the Bushnell would get me!

A definite thumbs up for the Nikon from me.
