Which golf ball

Well the Zstars aren't made any more are they??

You can get the Nike tour Platitums at a good price now! I like to use these! very good ball! Otherwise look at your titleist Prov1x! Because it will give you less driver spin if you swing 95/100mph! But it all depends on your price! the Nike are 25 quid now.
If you're going to go for AD333 get the tour version!
Also it depends what your handicap is? Go to your pro and have a lesson and he could fit you for the perfect ball!

+1 Is the first ball I've used that I actually noticed the difference it gives me. Added 10 to 15 yards with the driver.

+2 nice ball indeed....be in my top 3. I play the DX2 in winter, mostly as I got them cheap, but excellent range in total. Oh do I miss the Wilson FG tour ball. Wilson really do make some nice balls

Like the DX3 Urethane too, very good ball at a great price. Very comparable with the Bridgestone 330-RXS, Chromesoft and the Project(a) which are all very good balls. I'll happily play with any of these, or a ProV, but I tend to stay away from the Srixon balls, don't like the way they feel so much.

After finding a Vice Pro ball and having played it for a few rounds and liking it (previously a Pro V1 man in summer and Nxt Tour S in winter) I have took the plunge and bought 60 for coming season.

Another Vice fan here. All their things are good. Their gloves are the most comfortable I've used so far too.

Like a prov1x myself, tried a couple of eqivalent: Srixon, Bridgestone, Tm , none get close for feel (by that I just mean how nice they feel, not how well I can control them!)

Rick Sheils has done a ball test comparing the new Kirkland Signature against the Callaway Chrome Soft which I thought gave some interesting results.....not sure in reality how useful it is though due to the difficulty of getting hold of the kirklands.

For me it does show that we shouldn't have to pay as much for the top of the range balls. Longevity of the Kirklands will come into question though looking at the state of it after 20 shots

Crossfield has done a review too and questioned the longevity. Given the price differential, a little scuffing and similar performance to a recognised top end ball seems a small price to pay. For most, how much difference will a few scuffs really make

Played this morning with a Plus 1 , three time club champion. He got on the tee and said he was playing a Vice Pro. I said "what?"....having never heard of them.:mmm:

He was raving about them.... will have to have a try myself...

Genuinely surprised anyone can be a member of this forum and not have heard of Vice balls.

I must be on here reading far too much!

A few scuffs on a dozen or so shots...I'd expect most balls to still be spotless.
They'll be completely knackered after a round..
Do we know what price they'll be over here, assuming they ever get here....

I've been using Z-Star balls for the last 4 years but the Chromesofts perform very good aswell. Whatever you feel putts the best then go for that. No one will notice a great deal of difference for full shots etc. It's all about the putting 😉

This!

Though I have to admit to be a 'low spin chip/pitch' player, so if that's important....

Chrome Soft feels fine. AD333 Tour feels even better!

My Winter ball is Srixon Distance! Used the same 2 for the last 3 rounds - so will no doubt lose both on the first hole next round!

Have to think what kind of player you are.

When you have a 20 yard chip, 5 yard to front of green, do you bump and run it or do you loft it to a few feet and stop it second bounce.

I have recently bought some chromesofts and have been loving the responsiveness on the greens, so different to 2 piece balls I have used.

I think it will be good to see how it stands up after a round, looking at the ball after 20 shots I would expect that after a round a top player would relegate the ball to the practise bag. For the average club player maybe they will play with a damaged ball for longer, who knows? This could be where the bigger names keep ahead in the fact their balls last longer. It will all come down to how much these balls actually end up costing and also how available they are.

Personally I'm still happy if I don't lose a ball in a round, so the longevity of the ball isn't as much of an issue as it would be for others, if they come in at the right price and are readily available.
