Which Estate Car

I test drove the CLS350 Shooting Brake at the weekend and it was phenomenal. Boot big enough for a family to live in.
Handles beautifully for a big car.

That looks a beauty Greig, I love my Mercedes but like to change my car every 3 years and I've had this one nearly 5, not one issue mechanically with it.
Does guzzle the fuel and tyres are pretty pricey, think I can get something a lot better economically and cheaper road tax.

There is a CLS220 option Brian, it still has a bit of guts at around 180BHP but tax band B and around 58-60mpg.
You get the beauty but not as much brawn. I loved the interior.

I have a C63 on order but constant delays in the lead time are frustrating me, hence looking at other options as its taking the proverbial.

Skodas are good cars, heated rear windows to keep your hands warm whilst your pushing it. 😁

I miss is those old Skodas jokes. Not funny anymore though

What do you call a Skoda Convertible?

A skip!

I miss those days..

My money would be on a BMW 5x0*D (best sized engine you can get, personally the 530D would be perfect)

You could house a whole family of immigrants in the back of one of them!

Another vote for the 5 series. Reliable, vast inside and feels like a smaller car to drive. A friend just invested in a Superb though and he's mightily impressed. Excellent spec too.

Of course buying a BMW means you have to be sure you spec certain optional extras, such as indicators......

We have a stretch of road on the way into London, that whenever it rains you find BMW's bouncing off the central reservation concrete wall......it really suits them:)

I have had three 5 series touring and they are absolutely fantastic cars. The 520d is perfectly fine and the engine is a marvel of engineering. The 535d is even better with some serious grunt.

They are so well made and everything works terrifically well. Highly recommended.

I have also had an Audi and Passat Estate and neither were even close.

I've been in plenty of Merc estates as well and they are just as good as the BMW - the choice between the two best estates cars on the road is purely personal preference I would say.

5 Series Touring - can't go wrong with one.

Mercedes E class. Big, rear wheel drive, comfy, what's not to like?

I was reading the posts down but was going to say the above

You can't downgrade from a Merc to a BMW, you just become another knob on the road challenging the Audi drivers for knob of the year!
