Where do you put your GPS ?

About to take the plunge on a Sonocaddie,but curious to hear where people keep them when playing. Do you attach it to the bag / trolley ?

I attach it to the top strap that goes round the bag.

I concur with SandyBalls and keep mine in my pocket in case I'm off where my trolley can't follow

Be careful where you put it because remember that your distance will be from where it is, not where you are. We have a few holes where we park our bags/trolleys in a different place to the tee box. Then walk to to tee. I have seen guys get a distance from there GPS attached to their bag, then walk ten yards forward or back to play their shot.

I find the best place for mine is in my pocket, then I can whip it out whenever it suits me. Oh er! But mine is also built into my mobile phone so its not as bulky as some of the purpose built units.

Belt clip?

If it's in your pocket, does it pick the GPS up straight away when you take it out ? I thought they had to see the sky to work

They work fine in your pocket, thats where I keep mine.
Are you getting the V300 and if so, where are you getting it from?

I use one of these http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/bicycle-phone-holder-p14252.htm it has a button to release the gps so it can be carried when neccessary but 99% of the time it stays on the cart.

Can't speak for Sonocaddie, but the Skycaddie has a belt clip. The clip part stays attached to my bag, and the SC clips off easily when I'm finished playing or need to take it to where I'm hitting from.

I don't trust the SkyCaddie belt clip enough to use it on my belt. It's too easy to unlatch as you bend; which brings up another point, make sure it clicks home when you put it back in the clip - I found one on the course the other day.

colint, inside a building, possibly a dense wood but a bit of cloth isn't a barrier to rf.

I leave it clipped on the top trolley strap. Yes i might have to leave the trolley to one side on a tee shot but exactly how accurate are we all off the tee. Personally these GPS toys are mostly used after my tee shot for approach shots. Sometimes i will carry it and place it on the floor ahead of my tee so i can measure accurate tee shots and don't forget to pick it up.

I clip mine to the top strap on trolley or just the bag strap if I carry.
You could hang it from your belt but i'd know it was there and would put ME off.
Pocket... not for me

In the summer or when its not raining i'll keep it on the trolley attached to the belt clip and a hook. When I'm carrying I keep it in my pocket.

Are there any that definitely won't fit in pockets? Shureshot? That looked a little bulky to me....unless you have deep pockets.

I bought a great one for my Iphone (TeeToGreen £8.99)it copes just as well as my friends SkyCaddie

Nope its in the locker - bloody old farts cant see that its the modern stroke saver.
