What's your course record?

Four 2-putt birdies and a 1-putt eagle on a par 4. How far does this guy hit the ball???

A long way! 3 of those on par 5s that are only 500-530 yards & a short par 4 dogleg. Eagle hole is 400 yardish but can cut a lot off over trees if you've got the carry distance to try.

Amateur record is 67 (-3) shot by a 5 handicapper.

I know of an ex pro who claims a 63 round our place but no one knows anything about it officially.

It is indeed. Only been there a few years so not sure how it'll have changed since the 70's though.

That is some score around there.

Went round 3 times in one day once during the school holidays when I was about 14. Don't think Nigel had been the pro there for long then.

A few changes from what I can remember:

4th green used to be just over the bridle path but was moved back to the other side of the 5th fairway.
5th green used to be to the right of the trees. There used to be a deep pond where the green is now that me and my mates used to go swimming in.
14th used to be a par 3 and the green was to the right of the present 14th tee.
The 15th (used to be the 16th) used to be dead straight but the green was moved around the corner to the left.
The 16th was a new par 3 when they stopped using the old 14th.
Not sure if the old 17th tee it is still there (because you might be driving over the new 16th tee) but I remember driving right over the top of the oak trees from it. Maybe it is just a medal tee now.

Not played there for a few years though since my Dad moved to another club.

Our course record is 63 (par 70) and was shot by David Orr in 1993 who is now the Pro across the road from our track at Eastwood.

However we've got a player who has been posting impressive scores this year and seems to have made vast improvements from 9 to 2 in recent years and he shot gross 65(Nett 62) on Friday so with his form he'll have a chance if he keeps improving the way he is.

Nigel is still the pro, just passed 40 years. Came 2nd in the pro am a few weeks back though so can still play when he gets the chance.

Changes sound familiar with what people have said as I've been going round. A few of the old greens are just used in the winter now and the 17th tee is just a medal tee and play over the 16th, yellows make it a shorter/straighter hole. I'm sure the trees have grown taller in the few years I've been there though, many a ball ends up in the little valley below.

The pro and amateur records round our place are both the same at 63 (par 71). The Pro record is held by Trevor Immelman and several amateurs have had 63s over the years.

I think our course record is 62 which is -6. A 2 handicapper shot that about 15 years ago. My friend equaled it as a junior but as he was a Junior he wasnt allowed to go on the wall with him. Horrendous.

Ours is 65 (7 under) set by a young plus handicap lad who has since turned pro. It was also equalled by a 68 year old senior a couple of year ago, who beat his age as well.

That is ridiculous!

Was the course the one in your signature?

My old course refused me a longdrive prize as apparently as a junior i was not meant to play in this particular mens event (they took my money of course), i won the longest drive which pissed of the guy in the club that thought he was the biggest hitter (Big guy, played on the team member for 20 years etc.. they tried to do me out of the prize and keep my entry!

Your pal should be on the board, the scorecard is not reliant on a date of birth only a date of play!
