What's the highest single hole score but still got cut?

Hadn't come across this before and wondered if this has happened to anyone else?
A friend was onto a good score and a def cut of a stroke when he racked up a 10 at the 17th and not even getting to the buffer zone, but he still got cut

The 10 would have been adjusted to a nett double bogey for handicapping purposes. For the competition it still stands as a 10 though.
I got cut years ago with an 11 on the card - that got adjusted down to a 6 so for handicapping I was 5 shots better off, got inside CSS and got a cut.

I too got cut with an 11 on my card. Can't remember if it was an exact or playing cut though. Stroke hole so it became a 7 for h/cap purposes. In Stableford terms it's just the same as scoring say 37 or 38 points with a blob. You still get a cut.

As above it gets adjusted so in reality anything over a net db doesn't matter.

Last year I was doing well in our professionals annual HC qualifying comp until I got to our dogleg right 13th par 4 where I stupidly started thinking about playing the hole safe, took an 8. Even with the 8 I shot a 71 gross (48 points) and got cut 1.8 which was brilliant as my handicap had been on the rise for a few consecutive weeks. I'd been hitting the ball really well for weeks but couldn't get it in the hole, that week it all came together and not surprisingly won the comp.
After that week I went on holiday for 3 weeks and when I came back had lost all touch round the greens and shortgame was awful, this lasted for a couple of months, horrible.

I know what you mean, I remember going on hol to La Cala and shooting under par on every round on 2 courses, came home expecting the same but I think customs took my swing and touch at the airport- incredible

Never been cut but have been in buffer zone with 2 8's and an NR.

We have had instances of players with a high medal score caused by one or more really bad holes, being cut and disqualified for not signing or wrong handicap.

Fairly sure I've not been cut with a big number on the card.

Must happen though quite often though and too right.

I once started a medAl after only getting in from the night before about 2 hours previous and hung over. Was sick on first tee and proceeded to shoot a 21 on the 1st hole.( about 5 ob right) I then played some great golf and finished net 80 par 70. So only 10 over my hc with a 21 on the card!

Will defo be in duffer zone and may yet be cut depending on css.

I had a 15 on a hole last year still got cut though.

last year on my first season back to the game i had a 12 on the 15th and played on regardless. Accepted i was going up 0.1 and got on with it. Imagine my surprise when i went down 0.2 instead! When i chucked the game 10 years before there was no such thing as the double bogey rule and you certainly couldn't NR a hole.

a crowd pleaseing 13 on the last hole a par 5 which i was tring to birdie for 0.4 off. 0.1 still came off, after 7 swipes in the boondai i wasnt too bothered as i knew i'd get cut anyway.
