I'm a mid handicap player with a fast swing and a long hit. I do lose a few balls a round, so the pro v1 is just to expensive. So whats a decent value ball that will hit long and still have a soft feel around the green.

Got a couple of charity shops locally that have baskets of old golf balls 3 for a quid. Mostly rubbish, but so far this year I've picked out a dozen nearly new ProV1s. And a brand new 1970's Dunlop 65 :D

Otherwise don't think you can go far wrong with the AD333's

Noodle at a £10 or Ad333 at £15 a dozen. Online golf has 3 dozen Noodles for £20

Anyone know the difference between Noodle and Noodle+.
I bought some Noodle+ for £12.99 yesterday and feel a little over-charged. :o
And they've got England flags on which means less space for my ball marking creativity. :D
I would have got AD333 but I can't bear the nitro-glycerine coating which make my putts take off at warp speed.

Incidentally, Noodle do a ball for slower swings (Easy Distance). It says "up to 85 mph". I can do 85 mph if I take it easy.
I tried slower swing speed balls before and lost distance.

Anyway, back out into my field to practise those 180 yard 9 irons.

Is that 50 billion? Too many for me; I hardly lose balls, I don't hit them far enough. :o

I guess I'll have to get out and hit some to see what "plus" I get in my game.

I have been using Wilson FG Tour for the past few weeks, I find them great in terms of value and performance. They generally feel better than the AD333 I used last winter, they are massively better off the putter face too. £20-25 doz.

On serious note, For a middle to high handicap player I don't think you would go far wrong with either the wilson dx2 soft or the srixon soft feel. Both good balls.

If youre not that bothered about the performance or dont have a good enough game to warrant playing a premium ball then it really doesnt matter what brick you use. Noodles/ad333/nxt , whatever , theyre all just bricks and wont give any feel or response on the grreens anyway. Might as well use Pinnacle ladies pink distance specials for £1 per 3 million :D

Sorry but I disagree here. The NXT, AD333 and some of the others (Wilson etc) will give you a reasonable amount of spin and control both off the putter and chipping. To be honest most balls will stop at this time of year anyway so the trade off between a premium and decent mid range ball isn't so great

I have to disagree with Jammy, having hit an AD333 its not a bad ball, I would however recommend the Tri-speed by Srixon ahead of the AD333 and also the Srixon Soft Feel.
