Whats the best value all round golf ball

Thought i'd get some disagreement on that one :D

I was at work and fancied trying to get a reaction to make the night go quicker ;)

Each to their own and in the budget that they can afford. Plenty of good mid range balls out there but it takes a while to find the one youre happy with losing ;) :p

I've just got into using the Nike Crush and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. At around £17 a dozen I'm going to stick with it for a while. The AD333 is good value as well.

If you loose a few balls like i do try ebay if you don't mind playing with a ball with maybe a tiny little scuff, pen mark or company logo on. I got 50 srixon soft feels for £25, one or two were slighlty off coloured but 99% of them were in near perfect condition.

dont know the prices in UK but my vote goes to Bridgestone's e5/e6/e7 whatever you prefer but maybe they're too costy

Anyone tried the MD Seve ball yet? Online golf are doing a box of 15 for < a tenner or 3 boxes for £25. I might give them a whirl as a winter ball. They got a decent score in a recent magazine ball test too.

I'm not good enough to play a premium ball, I'd be broke in a week at the rate I lose them :D

I'll rustle up a few of my cast offs out of my practice bucket , they should be good enough for you to use/lose James :D

Just bought a dozen Wilson Dx3 Soft for under £15. Better than the AD333, and good for the Winter.

Still can't beat the ProV, but I'll wait until the decent weather comes back before I buy any more.

Why does everyone here rave about the Noodle? As far as I can see, they are bricks and give you no feel. The best all round golf ball, despite the value for money factor is a used NXT tour. On ebay, I bought a dozen for £12.00. Bargain.

If you're looking for best value you'll be pushed to beat the Noodle or Pinnacle Gold. The Pinnacle is a much better ball than the Gold of old with good distance, reasonable feel and not too bad on spin.

Moving up the scale a little you have the new Titleist DT Solo, Titleist Velocity, Srixon Soft Feel/AD333, Bridgestone Fix, Callaway Hex Hot, and Wilson DX2/DX3 all of which have similar performance and come down to personnel preference.

You'll pay a higher premium for the Bridgestone E5/E6, the TM RBZ and newer Callaway models but to be honest the performance gains v value are questionable.

My personal favourites are the Callaway Hex Hot's, Wilson DX3 and AD333 and I buy depending on what's on offer.

If you wait until Xmas day it's always worth going onto the Golf Depot web site and seeing what they have on special and buying in bulk. Last year they were selling off premium balls for £15 and Bridgestone E6's for £10

I'd go for Grade A premium balls off ebay or direct from one of the suppliers. A box of 2 doz Pro Vs can be had for less than £1.50 a ball and are much better than budget balls.

Also - if you anything like me, when did you actually throw a ball away because it was worn out - exactly, so a couple of marks before you start play isn't going to make the difference is it? (as an aside, I don't recall ever throwing a bic pen away because it had run out either - where do all the golf balls and bic pens made in factories round the world every day actually go?!?!!?)

My 2c anyway.

If anyone is going past Hayling there is a carrier bag of balls under a bush to the right of the 12th fairway. Well there was about six weeks ago when we had the mini meet. They have all been on fire, but some are probably still better than the cheapo models mentioned above.

Just watch out for the severed hand (Swinger knows what I'm on about).

Hopefully after 4 years the OP has managed to pick up a sleeve or two

Anyway Noodles still get my vote

(Pro V1's just expect too much from me in return)

Nothing wrong with Noodles (or Noodle+ for that matter).
DX2 and 3 are pretty good balls too.
At the moment, I am using Callaway SuperSoft. Good balls, fair distance off the tee and great around the greens.
Reasonably priced too.
