I disappear for a couple of months and the forum changes!!! It doesn't even appear correctly on my browser.

Anyway. A lot has changed over the lasr 2 months, as some of you will know from previous posts, things have very much gone downhill and tbh I kinda need some friendly banter on here and hope to be back on here a little more regularly. Just not as much as I used too!

Here he is - told he hadn't joined the Foreign Legion!!!

Good to have you back Hapless - not much happened here though.

Loadsa problems with the new Forum - mostly sorted although a couple have jumped ship as a result. Homer didn't win the Centenary comp, Smiffy's still Smiffy, and life goes on.....

Nope. No light. Just a big black cave. But I'm starting to think that maybe she's right!

Looking forward to any big meets next year, just as long as she doesn't take me to the cleaners! Only played once in the last 3 months, but I've got to try and spend my weekends with the kids. So golf has to go on the back burner for a while. Which is one reason why I've not been around. That and the new job.

glad your, nearly, back.
don't forget to leave a bit of time for yourself, then when you get the chance do a stop-over trip and get rat-faced - you know it makes sense

Sorry to hear you're in the cabbage Hapless, hope you can get some good stuff going again and that we'll see more of you here and on a course.

It says senior member yet you have a picture of a mizuno club, surely that needs to be changed to a ping club or some sorts :D

I hope that this cheers you up.

My regular playing partner was going through one of his many divorces at the time, he and I and another had a game at Wentworth. It cost £225 then for the round and he shelled out on the day for that. We were in the pro shop touching and feeling everything before our start time and he pulled this driver out of the rack, took it to the counter and said "i'll take it, don't wrap it as I am just going to the 1st tee". The assistant said "I dont know how much it is as the've just come in" "I will have to ring Taylor Made for a price"

Well that didn't sound like a bargain basement clearance sale to me. With that it worked out to (if I remember rightly) well into the £400's to which my mate said "fine" and paid - he hadn't even tried it!

I queried with him that the day would cost the best part of a grand with some food and petrol and his reply

"if I don't spend it all, she'll get it all in the end"

One satisfied golfer!

too true blow the lot on a nice car for work, she cant take that.
keep the chin up it does get better, and think thoughts of playing golf in the summer.

I'm going though it for the second time(I never learn LOL. I was playing golf and she was playing away). Hard going but dont let it get you down. Got a new G/f now and she does not worry how much I play. As long as I spend some time with her. So third time lucky me thinks.

as the saying goes 'time is a healer'

been through it albeit wasnt married but she emptied the house, left me with a load of debt and a house to sell asap. Luckily the kids didnt want to go so stayed with me, now 5 years down the line she has sweet f.a, the kids dont wanna know her and me and the kids lives are great. New gf 18 months ago who thinks the world of me so no complaints at all.

I had my lows but now its all highs. (except for my crap scores with a competition scorecard in my hands grrrr)

Hope it all works out for you :)

Wont tarnish your head with the twisted goings on of my divorce, but just a small piece of advice. Spend it and she can`t have it!!!!! If I could have spent my testicles, I would have. Now they just take pride of place on her mantlepiece:o:D

Now, I have a great lady who appreciates me for what I am, a step son and my oldest daughter living with me (who doesn`t want to know her mom), my sanity, and a whole lot of happiness that she will never experience.

Good luck mate;)
