What....

Ok and thanks, i looked them up at a large swediash retailer,, they have Alf and Paclite to the same price 2495 swedish krona, is about 210 pound,,is that a fair price?

That's just a bit more than they are in the UK - about 190 UK pound

Theyre £190 in the shops here, veryrare to see them discounted much from that, albeit you can pick pairs up on ebay for less, just a case of being careful who you buy from

Galvin green

Galvin Green Alf for me, pricey but worth it imho

I ooked a little on the spec as well. Alf is "isolated" inside,, are they warm to wear in summer, i mean you have golftrousers and then it starts to rain and taake the rainpaints over ones golftrousers, wouldnt that be to warm or?

I think i need a pair of raintrousers/paints that i can wear with golftrousers under and still not be to warm

That's a horrendous price to pay for a pair of pants that you really don't want to use much!

I've always considered it much more important to get the right jacket than 'proper' pants - though they must be waterproof.

I'd spend 70-80% on a Jacket and 20-30% on the pants.

Oh and I have a pair of GG pants that I bought over 10 years ago too, along with the Jacket. My £18 'last years' Benross pants suit me much better. I haven't worn the GG pants for years, but the Jacket is definitely top notch.

I mainly use mine in winter, and dont wear any trousers underneath, just put them on to play in, plenty warm enough and deals witrh the wet conditions great. Have never used them in summer, not a fan of waterproof trousers in summer personally. Usually a brolley is enough in summer, or if im in shorts doesnt worry too much at all.

Think they do a paclite version which is what you are describing, think they are called August

Matter of opinion, through the winter I play in them more often than not as my trousers. They certainly get more wear than my jacket does (albeit I carry it all year round)

Actually, I do the same. Just seems much more important, therefore cost justified, to have a top quality Jacket - that supports the movement involved in a golf swing - whereas I can live with adequate, but effective, Pants.

@Laka. those Peak Performance ones seem much better value - though still expensive to me. Been a while since I bought any though - still have several pairs anyway.

I agree with the comments above. Spend decent money on a good jacket and get a pair of Berghaus deluge waterproof trousers. They've never let me down waterproof wise and I'll play in all weathers. The only downside is the lack of pockets but they do have zips all the way up the sides so you can access your trouser pockets easily. I got mine in Go outdoors for about £40.

Hi Laka

I bought my Galvin Green trousers from my club pro shop, they discounted the price down to £160. It might be worth waiting till you are next at Saunton and asking the pro there to do you a deal

I did bought those in the shop earlier today when we was out looking around in the local outlet. They felt nice on, enough pockets and zippers. easy to get in and out of them and they also had a nice colour:clap:

Weather is really unstable and cold here now, during todays round it was showers and also hail shower... so i need a pair for play tomorrow because it will be showers....

looking forward to sep, so we can go to Saunton again:thup:

well i agree as well, i did bought an galvin green jacket about 10 years ago, it is still as new and looks new, but my recent rain pants wasnt good,,zippers and material and sewing wasnt good. I hope those pants will last for several years as my galvin green jacket:clap:

I've got a pair if alf trousers and wear through out the winter as the course is wet without under trousers plenty warm enough in the coldest weather. If you want to wear them over trousers I would recommend the paclite version without the lining. I have never been wet in horrendous weather and have the atlas jacket too. Expensive but good quality plus lifetime guarantee.
