I ooked a little on the spec as well. Alf is "isolated" inside,, are they warm to wear in summer, i mean you have golftrousers and then it starts to rain and taake the rainpaints over ones golftrousers, wouldnt that be to warm or?
I think i need a pair of raintrousers/paints that i can wear with golftrousers under and still not be to warm
That's a horrendous price to pay for a pair of pants that you really don't want to use much!
I've always considered it much more important to get the right jacket than 'proper' pants - though they must be waterproof.
I'd spend 70-80% on a Jacket and 20-30% on the pants.
Oh and I have a pair of GG pants that I bought over 10 years ago too, along with the Jacket. My £18 'last years' Benross pants suit me much better. I haven't worn the GG pants for years, but the Jacket is definitely top notch.
Matter of opinion, through the winter I play in them more often than not as my trousers. They certainly get more wear than my jacket does (albeit I carry it all year round)
Hi Laka
I bought my Galvin Green trousers from my club pro shop, they discounted the price down to £160. It might be worth waiting till you are next at Saunton and asking the pro there to do you a deal
Actually, I do the same. Just seems much more important, therefore cost justified, to have a top quality Jacket - that supports the movement involved in a golf swing - whereas I can live with adequate, but effective, Pants.
@Laka. those Peak Performance ones seem much better value - though still expensive to me. Been a while since I bought any though - still have several pairs anyway.
I agree with the comments above. Spend decent money on a good jacket and get a pair of Berghaus deluge waterproof trousers. They've never let me down waterproof wise and I'll play in all weathers. The only downside is the lack of pockets but they do have zips all the way up the sides so you can access your trouser pockets easily. I got mine in Go outdoors for about £40.
