Currently have a Motorola G13 and having issues again with it suddenly restarting so am thinking it's time to replace. I don't want to spend loads of money but would like a better camera. Can anyone recommend one. Thanks

I would even go Pixel 7, great camera and was the flagship model at the time. I only replaced mine to get a Pixel 8 as there were great deals on

Google pixel

Just got the 9 myself but they had deals on the 8a apparently

They just work well

Support finished in 3 years for the Pixel 7a. I have kept phones for longer than 3 years so should I go for the 8 series.

I got an 8 back in September or so, replacing a Samsung. Very happy with it, simple to use. I don't use the clever bits but for all the regular stuff and ease of use, it's excellent

Mines recently upgraded to android 15, not sure how many upgrades we'll get in the next 3 years and what benefits are.

But if you can afford to go up to 8 then go for it

I go for rule of thumb go for the most up to date model you can justify affording

I managed to pick up a 9 256gb for £500 on eBay which will have support for ages

I changed my phone last year due to accidental damage, I was budget limited to £250 and to buying in Currys.

I compared
Samsung
Oppo (my previous phone which was very good)
Motorola

I found very good reviews for all models I was looking at on YouTube

In the end I went for Motorola 5G 73 mainly based upon the fact that at the time it was on special offer and was £100 cheaper than the Samsung (my 2nd choice).

Just to add in edit I still have my original Motorola and it is still going strong (apart from the fact that it will not upgrade Android any more) which influenced my decision.

Bought my wife a Xiaomi Poco X6 Pro last year. Its 5G, 12G RAM, 512G memory and 5000mh battery. It is excellent, just Chinese. I nearly got one myself to replace my Note 9, but went for an S24 Ultra.
If budget with features was the issue, the Poco is a damned good bet.
