hi all,
just got myself a 58 pokey wedge and was looking to get one or two more wedges but dunno what ones to get.
was probably going to get a 54 but dunno if its worth getting any more. Thoughts please?

cheers

thanks for both replies! just read the other posts that duncan posted very helpful. homer I'm playing out of south east london only recently got back into playing golf after about an 8 year lay off. only 24 for so have plenty of time! looking to join my local club eltham warren as soon as possible. just looking to get some good information before i purchase some more clubs, recently just purchased titleist ap1 712's which I'm very happy with.

As in the whole thing I recently bought a 58 vokey that was in a bad state and cleaned it up and come up really good just wondered if anyone else had done a similar thing could post a few pictures if you wanted?

In essence it probably all depends on the loft of your irons.

i do stand corrected on this but the idea is to have the right gap between your irons and wedges. Might sound stupid but if your PW is 45 degrees and your lowest wedge is 54 along with a 56 and 60. Your gaps are not consistent.

however if your PW is 45 and your wedge is 48, 52, and 56 the gaps are consistent.

In theory it is fantastic but it still has not lowered my handicap below 23.

Ps ps I have vokey wedges and they are sublime.

pps ave not even mentioned a sand wedge which may be part of your iron set.

ppps you can find the loft settings of your clubs on the tinternet

my TM 200 wedges are 45 and 55... then I added a MD Seve 58* wedge... which I really like using, a lot...

So I suppose I have a big gap there. I may look at that later I the year. I don't notice it as a problem too much at the moment..

My PW is 48*, gap wedge 52* and SW is 56*. All Vokeys. The 56* is battered to 'ell and back, and should be replaced... thinking of going to a 58*.

60degree Donnay, 55 degree Wilson Staff Di7 Sand wedge, Taylormade 52 rusty, Taylor Made RBZ AW 50degree and my TaylorMade RBZ Pitching wedge.

48
50
52
55
60

My PW is 45* this gives me 120 yards then I carry 3 vokeys 50* gives me 100 then my 56* which goes 85 then I carry a 60 which goes 70.

Do not use the 60 much but it is just handy if needing to get over a bunker and 70 is a distance i'm not good at with the 56 or 50 so I carry the 60 for that distance.

My stock PW is 47° then I've got a 52° and then a 60° bent to a 58° that suits me, I'll rarely use my 58° for a full shot, prefer to get more creative with my 52° instead
