What waterproofs not to buy

What I don't get is why would you as a manufacter, supply the PGA with kit when you can't put your own logo on your gear. You can't advertise the fact that you supply them, so logicaly you get damn all public awareness by doing it.

But.

When it all goes south it's public knowledge (it's on the web), that your gear is tosh!

Why would you supply them under those terms?

"Are decent waterproofs worth paying for?" Err, yes. If you try playing in flipping awful weather. Perhaps it was Pavin using an alias when this question was asked on the forum a few days ago!? :p

Agree 100%

We must be missing something unless they're doing it for pride and patriotism :D

It is because the players all use different manufactures and mr Titleist wouldn't like Rory advertising a Taylor made bag or Mr Adidas wouldn't like Kaymer advertising Footjoy shoes or Mr Ralph Lauren wouldn't be to pleased with Luke advertising Glenmuir polos ( you get the picture) so no logos are allowed.

I remember there was a problem at the world cup when it was held in Germany and the coach said all players must where Adidas boots or they wouldn't play lots of nike players had to be allowed to wear Adidas boots

Hey Golfchat, looks like we were next door neighbours until today. I played at Kirkhill GC but resigned my membership yesterday, so back at Torrance House GC.

There a couple of locals on this forum.

Just never enjoyed the layout of the course, few holes uphill followed by more holes uphill. I also don't think the greenkeeper is up to scratch, he just never seems to do the little things that make a difference. GUR should just be called Ground as it is never under repair. A new sub greens committee came in this year and they seem to do more on the course than he does, if you can't do it off a mower it doesn't get done during the summer and in the winter it's just left. We even put those little plastic balls on the flags to indicate flag position on the green (Front, middle or back) and the green staff said they were too busy to change them . Three greens were put off in August after club championship to put drains in, he said they would be back on in 3 weeks, thats 5 or 6 weeks and still no sign of any play on them.

I can't complain about the sweep I played in (Guy's are all great) or the facilities they are second to none, it really is just the layout of the course and dodgie green keeper.

Haven't played it since I started back playing 2 1/2 seasons ago. I used to play the 36 holer every year and it was always in great nick. Hopefully have my handicap down low enough to play in it next season.

Give a shout and I will get you down for a practice round.
I might take you up on the offer! It is dependant on whether I get my handicap down, still hoping to do it this season two comps to go, but if not early next season.
