Couple of month's ago I shot my best ever round (79, 46 points) and when I told it to my playing partner last week he was shocked yet I'm not sure if it's because the score is very high or very low! :D I'm wondering what your best round has been...I don't mind if you give me the complete details of it! :D

My best ever round was a gross 69 (-2) off a 12 handicap.

Equates to 50 points.........

Now that was a day...............................

Best stableford score = 45 points, off 19.....(played to 10)
next best probably under 40, I got CUT!!! (surprise!)
Best medal score = 10 under par (nett) but it was off yellows and the SSS was 2 less, so 8 under SSS.

The good old days......last millenium.

Had a 44 point round yesterday, though I wasn't really striking the ball that well. So I won't say it was my best raound. rather my best points score for a long time. I've played better golf & scored fewer points on other courses.

To me a best round isn't nesessarily a best points score, so I'm at a loss as to which box to tick if you see what I mean.

That said I had some very good rounds when playing at a previous club I used to be a member of (Brailsford) Went round fairly regularly on my own & shot rounds (not points) 83's & 84's, the irony is I rarely managed anything like this in comps there & handicap never came down even when regularly shooting 90 somethings.

I think If I had to be pushed for a best round where I felt I played really competetive golf it was around Nefyn where I got 36 points or Ramada/Gloucester where I shot similarly.

Shot 72 scratch of 10 net 62 in the pro shops weekly sweep ,css was 72 , handicap committe wouldnt cut me as it was from the yellow tees and not the the whites, what ever happened to clause 19.2 i asked ., no answer back from them as that meant they would have to do something. :o

I had a gross 72 (4 over) around Poult Wood Municipal quite a few years ago. Playing off 14, scored 46 points. Played with the assistant pro and couldn't do anything wrong. I can clearly remember that twice during the round it looked like I had ended up in big "doo-doo" but chipped in both times from off the green to save bogie, and on the difficult 18th found a greenside bunker for two and canned my bunker shot for an unheard of birdie!
We were playing 36 holes and that was the morning round. I went out in the afternoon expecting the same again but scored 28 points!
But I would consider my 38 points around Bearwood Lakes the other week my "best" round for ages. First time I had played it, playing off the whites and coming on the back of some horrendous scoring in the weeks leading up to it. Three over gross on the back nine put a smile on my face and proved to me that the game is still in there somewhere. None of it was luck, it was all down to good ball striking, which made me very happy.

Best round was in terrible conditions (howling wind and driving rain) i scored 46 points, took no end of stick in the car park and locker room only to find out over dinner that i only came 2nd!!!!!!!! Some guy off 20hcp scored 49 points, so i wasn't even close!

Lowest gross score is a 64 (par was 69). When I was a junior I had a season where I came down from 28 to 9. I shot a net 50 (again par was 69). It wasn't in a competition, got some funny looks from my playing partners that day.

If we are talking points scored in a stab' - I used to be over 40 points most weeks for a couple of years when a junior. My handicap did fall dramatically during those two years however.

Gross 78, net 62, 43 points. The annoying thing is I had a triple on the 18th. Meaning I was 5 over par standing on the 18th tee, for someone off 16 that felt great!! It was only three weeks ago and I have played like a dog ever since. Blinkin' annoying, so much so, I have completely laid off golf for 7 days I think I was pushing it to hard to get a score like this again.

My BEST rounds of golf have never been the highest scoring.
Often if you equate result scores to quality of play there is often some conjecture, regarding how well someone actually played. If you are looking for best scores then thats a different kettle of fish, but best round is the question so Im answering that....

It was a 74 gross where every shot was a well struck and accurate and putting was consistant and very nearly birdie on many first putts, but with very little luck attached to the round, in other words, all down to me.
