What things are you currently working on in your swing?

1 - slow down the take away
2 - straighten the left arm
3 - keep the right knee flexed
4 - dropping the hands at the start of the down swing (rather than swinging with the shoulders)
5 - transfer the weight to the left side

For me the main one is point 4 as I've tended to start my down swing by trying to hit the ball by turning my shoulders............ out to in........ fade/slice

I'm not a big fan of this as it can be done wrong...but if you are doing it right and it's helping then happy days :D

I had 2 lessons last week and this is what the pro told me to work on. I really struggled at the time but when I went home and kept trying it without a club it got to feel easier and felt even better for the second lesson. Played yesterday and i've not driven so well (straight) in a long time but I did top a few iron shots which was dissapointing as my irons have been very good recently but I've got another lesson on Thursday so I'm going to stick with it.

Hmm there are some people working on a lot of things at once here.... One thing at a time people, your men, one thing at a time.

I am working on timing/tempo, in doing this I can sometimes work on swing width just to help with the timing.

Pretty much the same as Alex.

I'm happy with my swing in general but just looking to improve my tempo and rythem, mainly at the start of the downswing.

This is where my problems start when I try and "Hit" the ball rather than making a smooth transition and swing.

Currently watching lots of Freddie Couples clips on You Tube

I am happy with my swing and want to make it consistent so think the best way is rhythm. If I get rhythm in my swing my body seems more willing to go where it should, be on plane and maintain lag, stop me flicking and all the nasty stuff.

I must learn how to spell Rhythm

1) Grip when using driver
2) making sure my club face is square through impact on my swing
3) Keeping eye on ball (i have started watching my backswing, and cant stop!!)

As for me I'm working on swinging less around and more up and down.

Posture

- keep sharp angles in setup
- arms hanging down from shoulders, not reaching for ball

Backswing

- feeling left shoulder is going down and under
- high hands at the top of back swing
- restricting right hip turn

Downswing

- hip turn to bring club down for in to out swingpath

Putting

- using shoulders rather than arms and hands

Chipping

- visualise the where I want the ball to land

not much then hey !?

For those struggling with the out to in swing as I do. Something I've been working on recently is focusing on keeping both arms as straight as possible on the back swing to encourage width and also making sure my left knee bends forward rather inward and my right knee straightens. You can't help but get a good amount of rotation and it makes it much easier to swing from the inside. I've never hit the ball as well as I am at the moment.

Recently strengthened my grip slightly. That seems pretty well bedded in.

Now working on compressing the ball better and taking a divot with the hope of improving my ball flight. Very promising when it works but can be a bit confusing since I'm now hitting all my irons further than I expect. Unfortunately pulling quite a lot of them too so really need to figure out taking a divot and not pulling it!

If you try and take more divots you need to increase your angle of attack.
This can be done by moving the ball back in the stance or swinging more out to in.
I suspect if you are hitting it left, you are doing the latter with the clubface square to the swing path.
Try moving the ball back in your stance a touch and see if that helps.
