My course is par 71 with SS normally 70 and I think I could do it in 74 blows. I have had a 77 with a snowman on my card at a par 5 and a 79 with three 6's.

I can do it. I can, I can, I can.

:D :D :D Can I? :D :D :D

My best score was a 68 last year 4 under, I shot another 68 this year and I've also had a 69 and a few 70 aswell this year. I think every round could of been better but if we weaigh up the putts that go in and the putts that don't I think it evens it's self out. I had 41 points on Saturday playing off 2, 3 under gross. I thought with the weather I would be close but I came 3rd 44pts won it from a guy playing of 24. So us low men have no chance. BUt it's always nice to shoot a under par round. Current handicap is 1.9, I would love to get down to 1 but here's wishing

There's 2 courses where I play.

Course 1, par 73, sss 72 - best round 74. I could do under par if I could just score the front 9.

Course 2, par 69, sss 68 - best round 71. Realistically can see me hitting the SSS one day but just happy to play to handicap when venture out there.

I know that I can beat 90 (my next target). I have got close and on each time at least one aspect of my game was not working. I dream of that day when I am driving well and I do not forget how to chip or when I am chipping well but do not top my long irons off the fairway. That day will come

Would love to have a par round some day. Think I'm capable of it if my putting gets hot and the rest of the game is steady. Been +1 five times now, usually because of 4 or 5 birdies but the best this year is a 75 so the form isn't there just now. Can't ever seem to beat 30 putts.

Actually, the best round I ever had wasn't my best score. Had 16 pars and 2 bogies for a 73 a couple of years ago. Pretty chuffed with that one. Just came out of the blue.

I feel the same as J_F.

I have played a par 9 so many times but never all 18. I either start hot and lose it or work out where I'm going wrong after I'm 4 or 5 bogies for the worse.

I think one round, one over seems about right for J_F. (off 9)
I've had 2 "3 overs" and plenty of "5 and 6 overs". (off 9-11)

All this pales into insignificance compared to my best ever stableford. Scored 47 points (off 21) and got hauled in front of the committee!!!! I claimed it was luck, but actually it was 3 lessons and over 1,000 balls practice. Oh, and turning up at 6 in the morning for 2 hours putting.

68s, 69s, 70s ! cool....how did it feel?

I know what you mean about not winning....I played with a guy off 4 who went round 2 under....we were all routing for him at the turn, despite being "against us" - just too see a real live sub par round.

He wasn't even in the hunt.....I believe three of us (in our 4 ball) tied that day at 6 under net. I can't remember ever seeing 3 guys from 3 clubs looking so happy in the bar after.

Best at my current course in competition is 81 (nett 63) but I have shot a 79 in preactice.

In my heyday (some 25 years ago) and playing at Wimbledon Common (par 68) I would be disappointed to go round in more than 75 and often believed in my own mind that I was always capable of playing to 1 or 2 over par (yet rarely achieved it)

Today with a lack of practice, full time job etc. I think if I played my Sunday best I could probably knock it round in 75-77 (5-7 over par)

Happy golfing

68 best gross at home course which is 2 under (par 70), have played +1 and + 2 many times. Feel my very best could be -4. Have played under par in comps at 2 other courses.
This is a new topic but I feel my home course doesn't suit my game especially well, I seem to get on better at other courses that are supposed to be harder. I know the left side of the courses I play really well but very rarely visit the right side so any course with OOB or trouble right is no concern but trouble left and I'm usually in trouble somewhere along the way!

My course is par 72 of the whites, and just shy of 7,000 yards.

My best to date is a 76 (but playing off 14 I was well chuffed). I think an interesting question would be what's yr worst recent score (not when you started out), and what wenr wrong???

Worst score this year was a 91 (par 72 CSS 74). Nightmare round. Lost 2 balls off the tee, only hit 3 greens in regulation and chipped like I'd never seen a club before. Still trying to forget about it.

Good news though. SInce then I've realised I needed to have a standard draw off the tee. Played 15 rounds since then and have improved my driving stats to 58% of fairways and 49% of greens in regulation. Good to have a wee wake up call.

My best ever score was a 68 but that was a few years ago now and it was around my home track. Nowadays my best would probably be 72... my worst could be anything quite frankly. However, keeping it under three figures is always a goal when I'm having a bad day!

why are you surprised gg44? (please tell me your name's gigi) Who is going to say they're only capable of 90 or so?

If I add up all the pars and the three birdies that I have scored on the different holes and on very different occasions, then on my local (par 69) I can, in theory, if porcus is aviating, score 72. (there are three holes I haven't par'd yet, 2 nasty par 4's and a par 5). However, since I only broke 100 last week I'll dream a while yet!

i only took the game up 18 months ago at the age of 40 something :D my best score so far is 91 but my weakness ( i guess like alot of people ) is chipping and putting.

I focused on tee shots and irons to begin with ( and i reach all the greens/or near to them in regulation alot of the time ) but my short game sucks!

i think i will shoot under 80 sometime next season......i wouldnt like to say any more than that........i do hit the ball along way so if i can improve the shortgame knocking shots off my score should be easy-ish!
