My Home Course was originally a 9-hole that you played twice, and during a Saturday morning game playing with a mate who was getting married that afternoon (it's true), his best man and another guest I eagled the first with an 8-iron 2nd shot then birdied five of the next 8 holes, reaching the turn in an amazing 29 shots typically for a Saturday the course was flooded with weekend golfers and we knew that we were never going to get finished in time and get to the Church, so it was one of those 'If Only' times in your life.
However, years later there are now 27 holes and the 18 is a short course with 6 Par 3's and a CSS of 65 and a Par 68 but don't let that fool you all 6 short holes have to be hit to have a chance of getting par. A recent 69 followed by another are my best scores to date and a relief after years of trying to break that '70' but even then you know you have left a few shots out on the course.
A quick word to those that have a 'GOAL' never give up, you will get there eventually and as soon as you do, raise the barrier and set a new target. It's a perfect way to play the game.
