2020 is shaping up to be a magnificent one for me as far golf goes.

Plenty of new courses for me booked in thus far and still time to add more.

Muirfield
Musselburgh (trying to complete all Open Championship venues past and present)
Le Golf National
The Island
Portmarnock Links
The European Club
Portmarnock
Gleneagles Queens
Gleneagles Kings
Royal Worlington
The Machrie
Shiskine
Seacroft
Woburn Duchess
Royal Lytham

Plus get to revisit a few old friends

Woodhall Spa
Machrahanish Dunes
Machrahanish
Royal West Norfolk
Alwoodley
Notts
Sunningdale Old
Worplesdon
North Berwick
The Old Course

Plus a 3 week trip to South Africa over end July/beginning August

If Carlsberg did golfing years.....
Great list..... BUT..... how many are Qualifiers?? ;);)
I've eased back considerably so its a very limited list planned for me so far...
Hesketh for EG Seniors (Q-Comp ;))
S Staffs for EG Seniors (Q-Comp ;))

Then return visits to...

My mate who is a member at St Andrews prefers playing the Jubilee over all the courses.

Yeh - I played with a few members there (randomly met up on the 1st tee) who said they actually don't bother playing the Old more than once or twice a year. The New and Jubilee are their 'home' courses as they'd call it where most of their competitions end up being played on. No doubt helps that they've got a big car park right next to them.

Often wondered how it works if they have a KO comp. Are the courses set for each comp or round or whoever the top name is gets to pick the course?

Perhaps @stevek1969 can advise?

Grant as far as I'm aware each course has its own knock out comp as far as I'm aware , i don't play in them to be honest

Planned so far are;

Glenbervie.
St Anne’s old Links.
Fairhaven.
One of the Fairmont Courses at St Andrews.
Strathtyrum.
Gullane no2.

I really like the idea of Macrahanish. Also fancy Dumbarnie Links.

I also might be playing some matches with the committee as well, so that may give me the opportunity to play some new tracks.

Currently have the following planned, but not all confirmed:

Gleneagles Kings or Queens
Archterader
Royal Dornoch Championship
Brora
Dalmahoy
Bearwood Lakes
Swinley Forest
Nantucket

I'd skip Dalmahoy from that list. I've played it several times because I've been staying in the hotel, but there are so many better options if you're on a Scotland trip.

At the moment I have two lined up with a 3rd possible.

Bearwood Lakes
Hayling Island
Machrie (if my brother invites me to his place in Islay)

Goodness knows how some folks get the pocket money out of their other half to play the number of courses they do :)

My wife's standard response in the past has always been - 'you pay too much for your subs to be able justify paying to play other courses'

Somehow I've got two out of her this year...

Would recommend Machrihanish Dunes ahead of Machrihanish if it was the choice of one or the other.

A friend of ours is one of the pro's there, plan is to meet up as we're passing "close" by. Having said that, we may change tact and meet him him elsewhere in the evening.
