What is your target for 2014?

There are a couple things I have in mind, to be completed by 2015 as i'll be away for the summer of next year -

Name on a board and Cat 1 handicap.

Shorter term goals are -

Swing improvements - far too flippy at impact which is costing me distance, i would be happy if i can get rid of it by this time next year.

Pretty much a repeat of 2013 will do me. Had a fantastic year, played lots of AWAY golf, met loads of new people.

To get a short game I can trust
Use that to get to single figures. I dabbled at the start of 2013 and now entering 2014 on the cusp of 12.
Actually give Hawkeye some support when we play a match or a pairs event
Play some GM events
Get picked for a GM test (pretty please)

Contrary to popular belief that doesn't mean I won't be enjoying it whether I get there or not

My task for next year will be to play a bit more often.

Already started that I suppose as I have played at least once every weekend for the last few weeks, as well as once during the week. This was more than I played in the summer. Also to take a couple of lessons and try and get my handicap down.

In previous years I have set targets for, fairways, gir, putts, handicap etc. This coming year I am just going to go out and play and see where that takes me.

Break par
Make the knockout stages of scratch championship
Get firmly into cat 1
And stop being so harsh on myself.

drive 350 yards
play a high flop shot from a concrete path to within inches
break par
win a major
get selected for the ryder cup team.

Thanks. I really think its possible, I'm only a young junior, meaning holes are longish of the mens tees. I really (the last few months) am starting to hit the ball 20 to 30 yards further, and my shortgame is pretty good. I have a PB of 80 (that would be playing off of 10)! I also will be playing 3 or 4 medals per week!

Thanks for the message of support! Good luck for your goal to!
