What is your favourite hole?

7th Glashedy as Bob mentioned or the 12th at Ardglass spring to mind (in fact the 11th is fantastic too, playing it or looking back down on it from the 12th tee).
Any wind at all and it changes the hole completely from benign to bonkers.

Tough question....

8th at Formby is pretty special as a golf hole, great from the tee, second/third shots and around the green.

There was a hole on the Castle Course downhill par 4 and the green overlooked the bay right across to St Andrews that sticks in the mind aswell, can't remember which one it was.

18th at The Old Course takes some beating though, not as a hole itself but playing back into town and usually a few folk around the green watching.

Was closed when I played there :(. I parred the replacement which was between 17 and 18. Don't think I'd have parred the 12th that day. Wind would have been off the right though whcih might have helped.
 
The par 5 5th at Silloth is everything a par 5 should be. Angled drive, reachable enough in the right conditions, good green, crossing hazard somewhere between 40-60 short forcing the strategic decision, if you can carry the bunkers it may well chase onto the green.

See also the dogleg right par 5 early on Sunningdale New (6th?) if they ever rip out all the pointless trees on the inside of the hole to get back to the original wide open look, absolutely gorgeous view that could so easily be so much better.

I played Ardglass in a steady 35mph wind last summer. Hit a lovely 3 wood off the tee at the 12th, directly into the wind and came up just short. My mate hit driver and didn't reach. 😃

I love the 1st at Portstewart. Great view from the elevated tee before heading down among the dunes for the second shot round the corner.
 
I'd probably go for the 4th hole of the Santo da Serra course in Madeira.
It's a par three of around 200yds.
On a nice day it's such a wonderful place to be.
Slow play is recommended ..................... take it all in, especially when the clouds are below you!

Favourites:

10th at Sunningdale Old.
13th at St Georges Hill.
1st at Macrihanish.

But the best is the 9th at Royal County Down.
 
I like the 7th at Camberley Heath (par 4).
Also like the 10th at Crowborough Beacon (par 5).
Out of all the holes at Cooden, my favourite is the 13th (par 4).
One thing all these have in common???

I don't think I have a favourite hole. Or at least, it is hard to pick one or two out that I would say I 'love'. There are a few spectacular looking holes, but never played any of them well.

17th and 18th at Dubai Creek
8th at Emirates Majlis, Dubai (The tee shot. wow)
3rd Montgomery, Celtic Manor
6/7th Wychwood Park (Par 3, down the hill)

Now beginning to struggle of holes that stick out in my memory!
 
My experience is still very limited, but so far I liked best:

The 12th at my old home course in Bad Bevensen, a par3 down from a raised tee on a hill through an opening in the treed onto a small island green (not a very spectacular island, surrounded by a small pond, but an island nonetheless). It's relatively short, about 120 yards, but very daunting especially for a beginner.

The 14th at Lytham Green Drive. A beautiful par 5 (at least for the ladies, I think the guys play it as a par 4). You have to cross a little stream twice. It's hard to explain what makes this hole so unusual, I think it is because the stream makes it into a bit of a double dogleg, first to the left and then back to the right.

The 9th at St. Anne's Old Links. A par 3 with a wonderful long but narrow green that can't really see from the tee very well because it is hidden between the dunes. If you miss it left or right, you feel a bit like you are lost in the wilderness, even though you are standing directly in front of the clubhouse.
 
Hard to isolate 1 particular hole but off the top of my head.

Par 4 18th at Wallasey - I never get tired of it, it's not long be it's visually very good and makes you think about your tees shot. it's a cracking finish.
Par 5 6th at Western Gailes - a real risk and reward if you ride the contours right with a fabulous hidden green.
Par 5 8th at Formby - Proper golf hole, raised green with decisions to be made on every shot. Great hole
Par 5 12th at Kingsbarns, a stunning par 5 that curves around the coast. Views are awesome
 
Really like the 13th at the Glen, Very simple hole down hill par 3. But it all depends on the wind as to what you hit, also some of the best views from that tee.

I had always considered this hole to be overhyped until I played it recently. It's all about the tee shot, miss the green and you are struggling. I also hit 8 iron into the wind, missed it right and walked off with a five after visiting two bunkers. One of my playing partners (+handicapper) told how she'd had a 9 there previously....

I'll have a new found respect for it while watching the open this year.
 
Almost any of the holes on the now defunct Monte Mayor in Spain.
Unbelievable golf course.
Rumours are that it's been bought by Russians who plan to reopen it later this year!
We'll see.

17th at the oxfordshire. Par 5 risk reward second shot over the lake.

3rd at my home course, 164 yards from the white tees, green is about 60feet below the tee box and you have to thread your shot through tall trees, its stunning in spring.
