what is your favourite golf hole (that you've played)?

4th or 9th at Royal County Down are contenders for best holes anywhere.

4th is a tough par-3 to a small green with run off to bunkers. The tee shot is played from up the hillside if you are off the back tees, and can be as much weaponry as you have in the bag on a windy day.

9th is an iconic par 4 over a big sandhill with a big drop down into a valley and playing up to a green in a narrow neck.

What he said and add 14 at Old Course or 18 there too just for the atmosphere.

16th at Rosemount....crazy tough par 4.

My 6th hole,great par 5.

So many I could add and hope to add 1st at Machrahanish after Saturday...watch this space! ;)

Cant remember what the course was called but it was in Denmark. 621 mtrs. Driver, 3 wood, wedge and 2 putts for a birdie 5 :D

Edit
The 10th at Himmerland G C :)

One of the best down here on the South Coast is the 18th at Seaford Head. High up on the cliff tops with fantastic views of Seaford and the surrounding area. Probably the most elevated tee anywhere and you can't fail to hit a decent drive.

Golfmmad.

I think for me its the first at St Andrews. Not hard by any stretch especially compared to some on here but the whole feel of the place and the tinge of anticipation makes it for me
I know a low man who put it OOB left on the first, even the experienced caddies were speechless!

for me, it has to be the 17th at North Berwick... just a stunning golf hole.

A good drive is required up the middle of a very undulating fairway - 3 wood is a safer bet, then a blind 2nd shot to carry the bunker and onto the green - your yardage has to be spot on and then hopefully 2 putts for par... played it 4 times now and only parred it once.

once you get past the long slanted bunker and climb up to the green, the views are incredible.
