After spotting that you can pick up tickets to the BMW PGA tour at Wentworth for £30 before the end of the year in this months GM I know I'm going to this with my dad.

What events or tournaments are people going to next year?

Spring - Moving into our first home
June - My Stag do golfing weekend away
August - our Wedding

there are the only events im doing next year physically cant afford anything else haha

ive never attended a golf comp what are they like? and whos the idiot who always shouts GET IN THE HOLE

Was going to ask the same question, and yeah seriously people shouting it on a par 5 don't half wind me up and thats when I'm watching telly!

Woburn Meet
old farts v whippersnappers
Thetford one

thats it for me unless any other stuff pops up on here

if you went to a pro event and some nonce stood in your vicinity shouted 'get in the hole' would you say something or just mutter 'dick' under your breath :)

Went to Wentworth last couple of years and don't think we'll bother this year. Did send an email about marshalling but never got a reply - rather liked the Hugo Boss gear they were given

Didn't get a single olympic ticket so plan to go to the "freebies" like road cycling, triathlon and marathons.

PGA at Wentworth on a practice day. Less spectators and a better view of the pro's and usually free, leaving more cash to spend on hotdogs with the ladies of YumYums!

I always feel really guilty when people mention this as I got all of mine! Wasn't exactly a fair ballot! Just looked up wentworth tickets but there doesn't seem to be a junior ticket so looks like If I want to go I'll be paying full price

Lucky you - enjoy. I applied for £800 worth and didn't get a single ticket :( It is disappointing but I'd rather that than we didn't sell out and had to ship bus loads in to fill stadiums.

Went to wentworth last year on the Sunday and I didn't find it too busy. We got there just before the first group teed off and watched a dozen or so groups play the first 6 or so holes easily. Obviously it was busy when the last few groups were out but still got to see a fair bit. So think I'll do wentworth again and tempted to do the open as it's not too far away next year.

havent got this months GM yet, so didnt read about Wentworth, but literally 30 mins ago thought about it and looked at tickets! £25 if you buy before Jan for a day ticket! where is it that it costs £30?
whats it like, the day i mean? never been to a live golf comp like this! just hope im in uk for it, and shame i wont be able to go up on the wednesday!! wanted to take my camera and take a load of pics! mum said shes been to the open a few times (few years ago now!!) and was able to take camera in!
will most likely do the saturday!!!

I really enjoyed it and was amazed just how close you get to the players. Around the tees and greens it can be crowded but we tended to walk the course back to front and stop on fairways to watch each group play and if they were wayward then you were very close to them play - fascinating.

Also amazed at the range and warm up areas as again you felt really close and so different to most other big sporting events where you are somewhat remote from the players.

Another impressive element was the players signing autographs after their round - for as long as someone was queueing for an autograph they stayed and signed. Except for Colin !

Well worth going.

I'll be going to the Open at Lytham,if I can't make it on the friday I'll do the Saturday.
I think the price is getting a bit silly though I'm sure read its £65 this year.

amanda, thanks!! doubt id get time off for the wednesday, but hopefully the saturday!!! watched it on tv last year, was great!!!

I usually go on the Tuesday as it is relatively deserted. I've spoken to a few guys at my club who regularly get involved with the marshalling and they have put my name forward to the people they know so fingers crossed. We also provide marshals for International Final Qualifying at Sunningdale so keen to give that a go too

The Open of course, for anyone who's posted saying they havent been to a golf comp, do yourself a favour and sample the atmosphere and buzz of the best tournament in the world.

Might get to Wentworth again next year but that'll be decided a lot closer to the day.
Can't get up to the Open for sure - doesn't leave much else in this Country does it?

As for Forum meets, I think I'm only signed up for the Camberley Bash so far.......

Could be a quiet year..
