I'm guessing I am not the only one who gets an extra buzz when you discover the hotel cooked breakfast is self service? I don't gorge myself, no waste please, but being able to help yourself to that extra piece of bacon or a second egg is marvellous. Brings out the child in me.

coffee, toast with cheese and tomato or sweet peppers or red radish. boiled egg on suday. cooked breakfest on holiday

Its healthier than toast, cereals, marmalade or jam. Sugar is the real enemy in our diet and all those things are full of it.

I agree the issues we have trying to get the kids away from it just a little bit is a nightmare its in bloody everything and even stuff you dont expect... i also heard a major UK chef announce the other day that Salt is a poison and you should think very carefully before you add it to you meals... :mmm: Then you turn on the TV and Mary Bloody Berry and Jamie are making massive cakes and pies full of the stuff!!! Ah well at least we can go to the grave all comfort fooded up!!!:whoo:

Personally Im an Eggs on toast or bagel sort of a guy most mornings.... lots of black pepper... v v strong coffee like tar!! when Im running or cycling its porridge and fruit, yogurt and honey. :)

you should try the Gleneagles Breakfasts- if you don't waddle out frightened to touch anything sharp in case you explode- you aint tried hard enough.

A good few years back while on holiday in Canada, myself, the missus and bairn went down for breakfast, looking forward to maple cured bacon, eggs etc...

Alas, there was no bacon, nor eggs and only a few hash browns, the chef came out to replenish the mushrooms and did a double take when we asked if there would be more bacon coming out as all the bacon was gone, he apologised profusely and said there would be some as soon as it was cooked.

As we turned to go back to our seats we spotted the culprits an American family who had emptied the entire container of bacon which was meant for the whole restaurant. Saying that they were large does not do them justice, they were just ginormous, it must have been decades since they last saw their feet and between them they had more chins than a Chinese phone directory. Jut pure gluttony and greed, I don't even think they were chewing, just shovelling it in as fast as they could.

See that sort of stuff a great deal over there - the obese nation supplied by fast food

The UK is trying to catch up though

Porridge or Bananas and Yoghurt in the week (or occasionally toast when we've got nothing in)

Then eggs benedict or pancakes and maple syrup (I'm a secret Canadian really) on Sunday!!!

And always with a pot of freshly brewed coffee

French Toast, bacon and maple syrup is a favourite whenever I'm in the US.

Smoked salmon or Haggis and scrambled eggs here. Rarely have it right enough, usually just coffee!

4 cigarettes and 3 cups of tea - perfect

If I manage to get close to food then anything will generally do, partial to poached eggs on toast, Sausage/egg McMuffin, toast and lime marmalade, museli, fry up (love black pudding),... and now I'm hungry :p

Bowl of porridge with a chopped up banana, drizzle of honey and a couple of cups of Very Berry Tea(Lidl),big change from hundreds of

years of having nothing.Everything is now very healthy eating, that means lots of fruit, yoghurt, salad, fish What a boring git!!

JImbo;)
