What Do You Eat Whilst Playing

Makes me laugh when amateur golfers who struggle to break 80 are saying nutrition doesn't do anything to improve/help performance.

That's right, qualified doctors who've spent years studying nutrition and its impacts on performance , who advise the best in the game both at professional and amateur level are all liars.

It's absolute madness.

Think about what you're saying? Maybe it's playing a part in the fact you're not improving

If you're saying golf is just a leisurely stroll then I'd argue you're not concentrating enough or properly focussing, so yeah it probably doesn't matter what you eat. I'm fit, in the gym 3x a week but am generally pretty tired after a round (and that's without my talking b*llshit about the limited impact of nutrition)

Ususally just a bottle of water and on the odd occasion there's a halfway hut I might get something but it's rare.

It makes me laugh that guys who aren't fit enough to play a round of golf without getting tired think a granola bar is going to make much difference.

Nutrition is important, but only if you pay attention to it on a daily basis and combine it with a bit of exercise. If you rock up to course in no real condition to play, then eating something healthy half way through is going to make no difference at all.

Ah see now you've changed your approach buy siloing the people that won't receive any benefit from it.

Regardless of fitness the right nutrition will benefit you on the golf course. Have a discussion with someone in the know and you'll lose any debate.

I haven't changed my approach at all. I'm sure someone in the know could prove to me that whatever levels you measure in these things can be improved by eating the right food and in certain sports I have absolutely no doubt it helps.

But the benefit during a round of golf is minimal...

Those who are fit enough in the first place won't be using enough of their reserves for it to make any difference to performance.
Those who aren't fit enough need to get fitter.

If you get hungry during a round eat something, eat whatever you damn well like but don't kid yourself that it is improving your performance.
