Peebles on Saturday for a mixed medal, played ok tee-to-green but was a complete failure on the greens. Just couldn't get the pace of them, and it was little wonder that I three-putted just about every green, thanks to leaving first putts either 6 feet short or 6 feet long. Nett 75 in the end, thanks to that so 0.1 raise.
Ayr Belleisle on Sunday for a bounce on Golf Show freebies. The sun had brought out a lot of folk, and the course was choc-a-blok. Played better, putting was slightly improved, and enjoyed the layout even though greens/teeing areas are scarily close together.
Didn't however enjoy almost getting brained on the 3rd green by a player on the 2nd hole, who hooked his approach into the trees beside me and the ricochet missed me by a matter of a few feet.. not even a cry of 'fore' to be heard. And not once, but twice, did a player on another hole wander into our fairway and play my ball instead of their own...
A good day out though, ending with a wee ice cream by the beach and the flattest pint of lager I've had the (mis)pleasure of drinking in some dingy Ayr bar.
