What did you do and how did you fare this w'end....

Beautiful weather for me today. Overcast but warm with a nice breeze. Course playing the longest I've ever seen it set up. Nearly every tee pushed back as far as they could go. Rather pleased to be walking of with 39 points and should get me down to 16.6 so looks like I've cemented my new handicap for a while longer.

Good shooting sideshow!!

I was with the horses today so no golf but I might hit some balls tomorrow and maybe play 9 in the afternoon, I haven't played golf since the start of the month and have no real enthusiasm to play either :(

didn't play very well at all, must do better has been written on my report card.

Including yesterdays round, I have 12 games in 12 days, if my game at Kings Norton goes ahead Tuesday.

Its one of our board comps today. Medal qualifier, with the top 4 going on to play matchplay on BH Monday. And its chucking it down. Mrs Hobbit will be walking up and down my back with high heels on in an effort to free up the knots. Hopefully fit and dry by 12 noon when I tee off.

Good luck to everyone playing today.

Don't talk to me. Just don't talk to me!!!:one:

When I left the club an hour ago there was a 67 & three 69's.... I've hit the ball the worst I have for months but scrambled like Houdini... gross 76, nett 70. The last is an easy par 5, and I posted a 6...

I'm going down the garden to eat worms

Presidents Prize for us tomorrow...... This years President has a stableford format which im not a huge fan of..... I prefer stoke play as i seem to concentrate more..... Handicap has slipped slightly to 11 (10.5) exact...... So at least iv got a shot back on index 11.....

Spent 4hrs today on the short game at the club..... So hopefully ill be back on here again tomorrow with good news....

It's our annual charity day today and I wasn't playing. Nothing planned tomorrow either but hopefully get out on Monday morning to work on a few things. Haven't been hitting the ball well recently, so need to iron out a couple of flaws.

Missed buffer by one shot again!!

That's the second time this season I've missed buffer by a single shot

Hopefully CSS will do me a favor and go up. Everyone I spoke to before I left, including all of our three ball, were over buffer so here's hoping :D

Presidents cup, against the course, 18 hcp limit so I've lost 8 shots before striking a ball. Light rain most of the way round. Didn't play too bad but still too many silly shots! Complete mess of the back nine, no shock there.

Lots of two day comps going on I see, suppose its nearly the end of the season though.

Playing the same board comp as Hawkeye but didn't play today so in it tomorrow and Monday. Managed to hit the range for a bit and struck it pretty well in patches. New putter not in which was a disappointment but looking forward to playing tomorrow

Played in a stableford Rollup and kept the recent form going. 38 points after a blob on our hateful first hole.

Was going well and sinking putts for fun then finished with 5 bogeys. Driver deserted me, had a choice of a high lofted 100yd drive or or a topped 100 yd drive. Scraped a bogey on all 4 so not all bad.

Waiting on CSS, hopefully get another cut

On friday went to the range and 18 holes of par 3...it went very very well.............well enough to crack my 2nd ever hole in one.....a 125 yard pitching wedge.....what a beauty.....more satisfaction in effect than my full course hole in one.....a driver
through a 170 yard par 3 through a bunker on the way.....

Today just played a knock at mine..hit 6 pars and a birdie so was slightly dissapointed to shoot 3 over coarse par for my hcap.....3 triples being the reason.

Tomorrow taking my lass and my daughter to Sunday lunch at my my golf club....£8.99 for a huge dinner AND a pudding......cracking value.

Monday off to Allendale near Hexham to play in an OPEN.Love the small track have always played well there so heres hoping.

Part one successfully xompeted, Ellesmere won away at Ashton to reach the semis of the mixed cup, my partner and I lost game on the last, our opponents did play the back 9 in 2 under gross though.

I'm looking to improve in the 2nd round of the Phelps Bowl (board comp) today. Yesterday was a .1 missing the buffer by 1 unless the css goes up, which I don't think it will.

I wasn't looking or trying to light up the world yesterday after not playing since Cooden and nursing a painful back for nearly 2 weeks so I was generally pleased I was so close to buffer and how I played overall.

I wasn't getting my drives away cleanly on the front 9 but found all the fairways well on the back 9 as I started to commit much more to them. Think I was concious of my back early in the round and tried to steer too many shots. Chipping and putting was excellent, missed 4 birdie chips that shaved the hole and only 29 putts so very pleased around and on the green. Its the 2nd shots that are killing my game, long irons or fairway woods are the area I've got to concentrate on, its here after hitting good tee shots down the fairways that I put myself back in trouble, it's really frustrating! Just going to take a lesser iron on those shots today and then look to chip closer to the pin.

The backs feeling a little achy this morning so more Voltarol tablets & a massage with Voltarol ceam is required :smirk:

Good luck to everyone today, it seems there are a few 2-day comps going on over this Bank Holiday Weekend.

Currently waiting for Sunday roast to cook cracking a can open watching the golf and footie :)

Mind you I was on practice field at 6:30 this morning for two and a half hours

Played in our Presidents Day competition yesterday and equalled my best round with an 85 (par 69) which is 40 points for me. Should be 1.2 off my handicap if the CSS stays at 69 which would bring me down to 18.4.

One of the guys I was playing with reckons I might end up with an exceptional scoring reduction as well, as I had an 85 two weeks ago which was -6 nett. I've been trying to read about the ESR ruling and from what I can see he might be right, although I'm not 100% sure. Either way, I'm delighted to get down to around 18 from 22.4 at the start of the season.

-6 & -4 within a few rounds will get you an ESR cut, probably 1 shot but depends how many rounds were between the two scores
