Just leaving now for the 1st round of a 2-day comp (Phelps Bowl).

Backs a bit achy but thrown some Voltarol tablets down me and had some cream rubbed into my back so giving it a go, I'd be a pain (or bigger pain) if I had to hang around the house all day/w'end!

Very overcast here with showers possible, hope it stays dry.

Playing with my handicap secretary today for the 1st time

Its one of our board comps today. Medal qualifier, with the top 4 going on to play matchplay on BH Monday. And its chucking it down. Mrs Hobbit will be walking up and down my back with high heels on in an effort to free up the knots. Hopefully fit and dry by 12 noon when I tee off.

Good luck to everyone playing today.

That could end in tears if the rumours about your game are correct......:)

Nothing booked for me this weekend golf wise; Rugby League Challenge Cup Final this afternoon, hopefully with the roof on having looked at the weather, and some sort of walk & pub lunch on Monday. Might see what the Sunday Swindle is like.

2 quarter finals in Manchester and district team knockouts this weekend, mixed foursome one today away at Ashton-under-Lyne, Ladies singles one tomorrow on neutral course at Dunham Forest.

36 hole scratch comp for me........with my new/eureka moment swing.........off to the Johnny Walker as well then The golf from America at night.......hmmmmmm maybe SWMBO has a point:whistle::blah:

Was supposed to be going to dinsdale spa golf club with the junior team for a away day but its been lashing down, down there so its very wet and the junior organiser has cancelled it so I'm twiddling my fingers till work Tuesday morning.

First bank holiday I've had no plans for in about 8 year!!!

Board Pairs comp this morning, mixed pairs semi final tomorrow and bank holiday scramble on Monday...

Then a "big" county inter-club competition away at Ramsey on Tuesday.

Good luck everyone - enjoy

Was up and out of the door @ 6.00 to tee off @ 7.15, it's been chucking it down all night and was so when I left the house so thought it was a bad idea. Got to the course to find the putting green on verge of flooding and all play suspended until 10am.

Two day board comp for us this weekend, we can pick any two of the 3 days but due to having to work tonight I played this morning in the rain and will play Monday.

Todays round was like all my rounds just recently, started with a treble but played the front nine in +4. Parred 10 and 11 then made double on 12. Ended up with a 9 over 79 (Nett 72).

I played some great golf again only to let myself down with 2 sloppy holes. I'm still in it though.

Clubs champs at ours, 18 holes in the rain :( Hit it so awful off the tee its getting ridiculous, struggling to even hit a 4 iron off the tee. Considering that I scrambled ok to get it round in 81 (+9), made the cut for day 2 but wont be winning it

Went the range but Bi's Tri's and shoulders are still too mashed from the gym (Thu/Fri) to work on anything properly. Still decent session and playing tomorrow.

'Silver Medal' comp this weekend. Drove very very well, struck my irons well too and pitching was ok - lessons are working :)
BUT putted like a bind person - couldn't get the range at all so +0.1 collected :(. Enjoyable company and dry weather, so hey ho.

Played last night. Honestly played very well, out in 37 (36-36-72par) and unlike most rounds didn't explode on the back 9 to come back in on 37. A nice +2 round, although just like every other good round I just didn't make the most of the birdie chances. Only got 1 birdie, which is very odd, usually have 2-3 a round. Just couldn't hole the 15ft'ers I was leaving for birdies.

Played 9 this morning and was feeling very tired, no round tomorrow as I've working a night shift in Carlisle today. Next round set for monday morning after spending most of sunday in bed.

Well despite the rain we came in with 42 points so very pleased...a score of 43 already in though so not going to win! A missed short one on the 15th bugging me and a 3 putt on the 18th bugging him
