PW....never, ever.....you need all your scoring clubs. I'd find it hard to beleive you don't need that exact distance now and again.
Easy, i.m.o. ditch the 5 wood or if you feel really good about your driver, the 3 wood. Given your h'cap, I'd keep the 3 wood and use it more often on the short holes....d'you hit every fairway with the driver?

There shouldn't be any difference between an 18° rescue and a five wood (18°). The five wood shaft may be a bit longer, but the rescue is heavier in the head. Both should go about the same distance I would have thought.

after reading the advice given and speaking to my pro I have decided to drop the 20* cobra baffler I carry. Now for sale in the relevant section.

Reason is that it is only 1.5* more lofted than my 5w so it seems like the most logical thing to do.

Usual Pitching wedge is a 48 degree, SW is a 56, Gap wedge fills in at 52 and then you have your lobbers at 58, 60 and 64 - this is typical but not the law.

Not so much any more.....PW are averaging 46 degrees these days. The old stlye 52 A/56 S/60 L is pretty much untouched.

A "Gap" wedge is very popular a.t.m. because of the low lofts on PW. I've had one for years, (pointless work of Satan!) but now need it as my PW is 45 degrees and SW 56!!!

Basicaly my new irons are numbered 4-PW but are actually 3-9 iron. ???? all a bit silly.

Yeh....my 5 wood is 19 degrees, my 3H is 20.....and the difference in distance is quite a bit.....'cause of the length of the shaft. Don't sell it.....you might need it.....honestly, it must go a certain distance....what happens if you go and play a course where a 5 wood is not needed?.....like mine.....could come in handy

If it were me I'd be buying 52 degree wedge and loosing the three you currently have. The 52 will comfortably replace you 51 and then I'd take out the 60 and use the 58.

I use a 56 for all my bunker shots and if I need more loft can open it up comfortably to play soft high lobs should the need arise

Get shot of the 56 and 60 wedges and get a 58 !!

I'll go along with that, or even get shot of the 60 and open up the 56 when required. I’ll also be a little controversial as I’ve very rarely come across a high handicapper who can use a 60 to its full potential. A full shot with a 60 doesn’t go that far, and if it’s hit thin, it invariably goes way through the green.

I hardly use a 60 or 52. I think it's more important to get a good selection for all shots 60-160 yards. I don't know any good players who hit full LW shots (unless in desparation) and with the current state of PW lofts, the "A" wedge (50/52) is probably more use.

I'm really keen to get a 50, but it's MD or nothing a.t.m.

I got the same problems as jon but i normally ditch the three wood, i hit my long irons really well and i hit my 16 deg rescue club consistently better than my 3wood so i ditch that!

Got to agree with realgolfer here, its a quality club you're selling and you may regret it one day - better to have the option to leave it in the boot than not.
