Just got my subs through for this comming season and thought it would be very interesting to see what people all over the country are paying for their golf this season. I have noticed that the amout varies greatly from region to region.

For example in the Central Belt we seemed to be held to ransom over fees yet the further north or south you go the fees get alot more reasonable, I asume its the same in England, Wales and Ireland????

I'll start. I'm £710 with £50 bar credit on top making it £760 this year.

I think mine is £800 + £50 bar here in East Yorks.

Could pay less locally, but then I'd not be able to get near the Tee when I want to, so worth it to me.

:-)

806 iirc plus 30 for the locker. £50 due into my bar account by may also. so 886 in total. Varying degrees of playability all year round but then the fee covers more than just the condition of the course, if its raining there still snooker etc.

Current Subs are £560 which includes a clubhouse levy of £51
We recently had a new clubhouse built and this levy is used to offset loans on new clubhouse

Not too bad for an Edinburgh based club really.

At royal musselburgh it's £580 with a £30 bar card. Not bad.
Sounds very reasonable TOMO for a famous old golf course. I'm surprised at the £30 bar card. Does this mean that some members have to be forced to spend thirty quid a year over the bar? We Scots!
Here in Northern Spain I've just been told that it's 635 euros for next year. Plus 5 euros when you play at the weekend and 4 in the week. Competitions are now 30 euros but you get lunch whether you want it or not.
God knows what Homer pays at Ascot.

£650 including bar levy of £50 I think, but wont be renewing.

Thje club I am looking at joining is about £750 all in I think but I wont have to pay that, Its only about £600 if you are aged between 21-29. Course apparently is playable all year with no temps. Club house is great and has snooker table etc.

£210 a year. Seems like a great price after reading the above. We do get temps in winter and it's frozen or snow covered for a good part of the winter however.
To be quite frank if I had to pay £7-800 a year I wouldn't be in a golf club.
It's a fairly decent track for the money.

£600 inc £50 bar/food card. Plus £20 for a large locker. Playable all year, temps and reduced course in the winter. but its generally in quite good shape. There is plaenty of free te times and lots of great members.

Not got the prices for next year but I imagine it will be about £1100 + £50 bar levy. On top of that I'll pay £60 for my locker. Given the courses around me that is probably the going rate even though it is way too much

I have never yet paid more than 600 ( mind you a couple of courses some yrs ago would have been expensive at that price) and a golf course would have to offer something special for me to part with more than that. Ive played enough courses to know that there are plenty of rip-offs out there and plenty of superb value for money courses too.

Too many golfers are too easily parted from their cash. Now having said that, if I could get membership at Carnoustie or Woodhall Spa as two examples, I would be more than happy to part with more, but as I live in a county riddled with decent courses at a reasonable price, the prestigeous ones can just have me as a visitor now and then. ;) I do feel sorry for people living in areas of limited golf and daft pricing though.
