On the subject of Italian lagers, I was in Naples last year and a favourite was this little stumpy brown bottle, red and white label called Ichnusa, it was lovely and could get it everywhere, seemed to be their stock beer every shop, restaurant etc.

Yet to find it anywhere here

But Seeing as am drinking Greek alpha lager and missis T is on semi sweet red. That’s not important, what is important is we are drinking in a fantastic blues bar we have found in Athens.

A special occasion?

I’ve seen that over here for around €105 a bottle. Too rich for me. I baulk when it gets to €20 for something decent. The local supermarket do their own brand Merlot at €2.55.

Coming off the course in sweltering heat (yesterday), ordering a pint of room temperature London Pride (Fullers), £4 20, whilst everyone else is drinking ice cold Inch's cider or Cruz Campo at £5 plus, necking it and realising "I could easily down this in one".

a couple of bottles of Albarino, really nice drop. got it direct from Spain from the same company weve been getting flower and the bee. miles cheaper than we can get it from wine merchants here.
