As a 25 handicapper, i usually expect to play to 10-12 over par gross, but not today. I played nine holes this morning of the yellow tees to 1-Over par gross! I had one bogey and eight pars. Extremely chuffed :D

Nice work!! Was that on 9 proper holes of the 18 or are we talking a 9 hole pitch and putt style course? If so then I've managed 2 over par for my best a 29 and missed a 2 footer on the 9th :(

Cheers, yeah a proper 9 holes out of the 18, 3 par 3's, 1 par 5, and 5 par 4's. :) The main problem i have is that whenever i play in a tournament, i turn to ratsh*t :(

Good going MKDave

Nicely done. I had a pretty nice 9 holes tonight. 49 strokes (par 37) when my previous best round the front 9 is 59. And that included two doubles on the first two holes while I warmed up (I rolled up and went pretty much straight out as I needed to be round fairly quickly), a ball in the water on the par 3 when I talked myself into an 8i rather than a 7i and an OOB when I thinned a wedge badly through the green. That leaves around 6 strokes through sloppy play that I should be able to easily avoid. Plenty to be encouraged about.

Well done ! However, and I don't want to rain or your parade but I would point out that as a 25 handicapper in the handicap system you would play to (ie as good or better than) your handicap only 1 in every 5 or 6 times. If you are playing 9 holes in 10-12 over regularly then you should be about an 18 handicapper and if you can go round in 1 over for 9 holes you need to have a serious cut (by comparison when have you every heard of a pro, North Korean leader aside, looking to play 23 under par in a round which was your rate this morning).

If you don't try to get the handicap sorted then it will undermine any future competition wins, I'm afraid my dim view on these things are that unless you take reasonable steps to get a general play cut it's cheating pure and simple.

Nevertheless - well done.

That's great playing a cut must be imminent get suing some qualifiers while your in form as it sounds like you ate constantly playing below h/cap.

1 over after 9 is good golf by anybodys standards, well played.
