Had this little cutie delivered yesterday - a Taylor GS Mini Mahogany.

Best £400 I've ever spent. Absolutely incredible little guitar.

Anyone that plays, I cannot recommend it enough.

Looks very pretty indeed, I imagine it sounds just as nice?!

I have a couple in my current collection with the below being my personal pride and joy. Unfortunately leave it in Blackpool as I'm not sure my contents insurance would cover it here!

I can confirm it sounds as good, if not better, than it looks. Amazing sound for such a small guitar.

The Gretsch is lovely! Awesome colour.

Darth. I've only just started playing again after 4 years or so of not picking up a guitar. Really getting back into it though. Sold off a couple of guitars and bought this to replace it.

I find myself being drawn more to folky music and classical but struggling to find a guitar I like.

Any suggestions of ones to try? Would like a nylon string for a change. Budget circa £400.

Not a huge fan of Nylon strung guitars myself, mainly due to the fact it doesn't suit my style of playing (percussive strumming, i.e. Jason Mraz, John Mayer), but in that price range, check out examples from Yamaha, Takamine and even the likes of Crafter. Their higher-end guitars are lovely.

If you want suggestions of steel-string acoustics, let me know.

What I will say, is don't be afraid to buy second hand - they will more often than not sound better because the wood will have had time to mature.

Beautiful mate. My old man has a Martin D18. It's a stunningly lovely piece of kit, and all I have to do is wait till the arthritis kicks in and it's mine.........;)

I will own a high end acoustic one day - probably get one for my 40th. I have a penchant for Taylor guitars (akin to my Mizuno love ;)) as they play and sound fantastic straight out of the box. Some people think they sound a bit too clinical and don't have the character of a Martin, Lowden, Larrivee etc..But I do loves them. Trouble is, in case you hadn't noticed, I'm a lefty, so my choice of guitars is slim and Taylor are VERY lefty friendly and make ALL their guitars available to left handers, unlike some guitar makers.

Is that one of the re issues Gretsches or and orig?

Ive a 68 Chet Atkins semi and one of the new electromatic semi's and i have to say the electromatic sounds as good as the orig.

Looking to get a fender Jaguar the same as i had 20 years ago in surf green, but it wold appear they are like gold dust and just as expensive.

It's a re-issue from about 2005/2006 with the leather trim and native american fretboard stuff. I believe it's actually a bit of a one off as they tried the version with these pick ups and with some others and ended up going for the others. So, essentially it's one of these - http://www.gak.co.uk/en/gretsch-g61...-stain/55478?gclid=CKbJ6o77v7cCFXLLtAodzBUAIA - but with slightly different electronics :)

I used to have an Orginal 60 Country Gent untill i sold all my stuff mid 90's and it was always a bit temprimental. so too it to a guy to check out, he had worked on all sorts of Gretsches and said the wirering on the originals was always poor. he said they must have employed the worste electrcians in the states in that factory;)

Luckily someone had already rewired the Chet before i got it.

Like it Jon

I'm looking for an acoustic, but the wife would make me get rid of one of my other guitars first.

Apparently 9 is too many :|

:D I feel your pain mate. I had 7, I'm now down to three (well, 4, until I sell my Taylor Big Baby).

Currently left with:
Fender US Strat
Custom Made Morgan Merlin (mate of mine who has a guitar building side-gig when he’s not piloting for BA – makes unbelievable guitars)
Taylor GS Mini

And have sold:

Cheap Washburn superstrat copy.
Fenix Japanese, heavily modded strat copy (complete with pimped out mirrored scratchplate! :D..I miss that )
Martin LXM Travel Guitar
Fender Japanese Telecaster
Taylor Big Baby (soon, hopefully)

Only one I really regret selling was the Tele. Absolutely gorgeous guitar.

Once all the wedding guff has gone, the house might actually have some room in it again now I’ve managed to clear some of them out.

Just buy one of these mate, they’re only small, so don’t take up the room of a full sized acoustic, so I’m sure she won’t mind :D

Sounds like ample justification to me ;)

Currently I have: -

Epi LP Custom in Silverburst
EPI Explorer with EMG-81 active 'buckers
MIJ 80's Squire Strat
MIJ 80's Ibanez Iceman with a Floyd Rose
USA Washburn Dimebag Darrell
Squire Showmaster, glitter finish and a reverse headstock for when I'm feeling in a glam rock mood ;).
Carleton LP copy with Wizard custom wound 'buckers currently set up for slide
Yamaha 12 string acoustic that's currently needing repaired.
Knackered no name 6 string acoustic that was my first ever guitar :)

I've got 3 amps too... only 1 of which is quiet enough to use in the house :|

Nice! The Washburn Dimebags are so much nicer than the Dean's. You need a Washburn Nuno ;)

Wish I was competent enough to play rock/blues to a decent level…I’m not. Hence why I only have two electrics now – I’d probably have none, but I can’t ever sell the strat as it was a gift from some very good friends of mine and I bought the Morgan as a 21st Birthday present to myself.

If you want another amp, I have an original Marshall Valvestate 8080 which I need to shift. ;)
