Anyone having a flutter on the desert matchplay?

I put £10 on Poulter at 28/1 and £5 on both Ogilvy (14/1) and Stenson (25/1), all to win.

Pretty generous odds on Stenson particularly I thought.

Waste of money or inspired choices? :p

Steve Stricker anyone?

I dont see Stricker as a birdie machine, more of a par plodder. Think the matchplay (on this course anyway) suits the aggressive players better.
Ogilvy clearly likes it, not surprised he's favourite.

But Stricker is world number 2. Are you telling me he can't play golf?

Surely in the absence of the big T, all eyes will be on the world number 2?

No, maybe not.

Stricker is one of the good guys I'm sure, but he's totally uninspiring to watch. Obviously a solid player but he has no star quality at all.
Personally I would love to be in his position of having all his golfing wealth and success but none of the media crapola, intrusion or fuss that accompanies many of his peers, he just slips along under the radar.
Can't see him winning the WGC but by me saying that he likely will .

Stenson?

You would have been better off treating yourself to a XL bacon double cheeseburger from BK, that way you would at least have had something to eat for your deep sea diver!

Kaymer or Poulter would have been my two if I were betting this year.

Agree with Craw here,Stensons putting is worse than Screwbacks, not a chance with him. ;)

I got Poulter at 33/1 and had a wee, very wee flutter on him.

Edited to say just as well a wee flutter....he looks like he'll be packing his bag tonight!

Ha ha,and Stenson is away home with man flu!! :D

Stenson, what a wimp, bit of paracetamol and a large scotch and he'd be fine.
I suspect because he played one hole he has not officially withdrawn therefore I won't get my stake back from W Hill. :(

At least Ogilvy is winning....for now.

Gambling...it's a mugs game!

I quite fancy one of those Molinari brothers to make it to at least the semis. However I would say someone like Casey or Ogilvy to win. Betting is a mugs game you wouldnt catch me doing it (gamblers Anonymous anyone ?)

Not everyone fav but JB Holmes

I hope you got 10000000000/1 minimum.

Got money on Garcia mainly.
Got small amounts on Weir, Wood, Scott, Sim, Schwartzel and Toms.

Was doing well on my accumilator had 12 out of 15 won or winning but GMac Lost it for me. No 60K for me.

Won a few quid on matches today, Weir, Villegas and Jaidee were all good odds considering and did me well.

I had a small £1 ew on O.wilson at 100/1- won his first round match and meets Mcilroy tomorrow which is certainly a make or break tie. I thought the odds were very generous though and worth a flutter.

Elsewhere I've backed Luke Donald each way at 50s, Casey at 18s and Poulter at 28s, just to show some further British loyalty.

Ogilvy will win it again though I think. Although at least I backed out of Ross Fisher...unexpected first round exit to say the least!

Not expecting much of a return if I'm truthfully honest though, I'm not a big gambler and bet what I can afford to loose at any given time! :/
