I played with a mate yesterday on what turned out to be an ok day (for once). It was the first time in a month that I'd picked up a club.Considering the recent weather the fairways and rough were in pretty good condition, with only patches holding some standing water. A few of the greens however were looking a bit battered - if I'm 100% honest if it was my home course I'd have preferred them to close the course, I can only imagine the damage being done to them. There were 3 or 4 temp greens als
verall I think its a nice course, I particularly liked the "Woburn-esque" downhill par 3 and I also liked the need for different clubs when teeing off rather than automatically reaching for the driver. The main thing that has made me type up this though was our dealings with 3 groups of members during the round.Without exception they were absolutely first class in etiquette, manners and friendliness. We were a 2 ball that did 18 holes in 3 hours 15 mins. On every occasion that we got anywhere near catching the group infront they immediately called over that they would wait so we could play through, I've never experienced this anywhere else and it was so refreshing. One of them even found my putter cover and found me in the bar after to give it back.Top notch.
